It's Sounders Camper Appreciation Day at CenturyLink.

It’s the Sounders’ annual Youth Camper Appreciation Day, which allows about 3,500 soccer campers the chance to watch a Sounders FC training session at CenturyLink Field and interact with coaches and players.

Some details from the club:

The Sounders FC hosted 57 soccer camps for boys and girls ages 4-15 throughout the state of Washington during the spring and summer months. More than 5,000 campers participated.

Each camper participated in the SUBWAY® Skills Challenge for a chance to win a $10 SUBWAY® cash card. One boy and one girl from each camp were selected to be eligible for the grand prize, free SUBWAY® for a year. The grand prize winners will be announced during Camper Appreciation Day on Thursday, August 16 at 12:15 p.m.

Sounders FC Youth Camps are presented by adidas and Group Health. Supporting partners include Brotherton Cadillac, ROOT Sports™, SUBWAY® Restaurants of Western Washington, Bruce Titus Eastside Subaru, Xbox® and Outback Steakhouse®.

For more information on youth camps visit SoundersFC.com.

Players and coaches also will be available to the media as usual today, so some news should be coming this afternoon … although probably a little later than usual.
