I didn’t see Osvaldo Alonso after the Sounders 2-1 win at Colorado last night, so it was up to coach Sigi Schmid to talk about the All-Star’s game-winning goal.
He liked it. A lot. And also the chain of Sounders passses from Alex Caskey to Eddie Johnson to Alonso that led up to it.
“Good goal,” he said. “Good patience by Caskey. Good pass by Eddie. So, it was a good goal. … I think it was one of the best Ozzie’s scored for us – and he’s scored some good goals in the Open Cup and that. I just thought the whole buildup was good. I thought Caskey showed a lot of patience. I thought he was setting up to shoot, and he was patience and knocked the ball wide again to Eddie. Eddie found Ozzie in there, and Ozzie hit a nice volley. It was definitely a nice goal to win it.”
