The Sounders training pitch was something of a ghost town today, as the guys who played in the Reserve game at Chivas yesteday were off, and so were a few players dealing with various injuries. Among the latter were Michael Gspurning, Brad Evans, Marc Burch, Alvaro Fernandez and Patrick Ianni.

Mauro Rosales and Adam Johansson were among those participating.

“Mauro and Adam obviously got through it OK,” coach Sigi Schmid said. “Flaco still has a little bit of an issue when he runs at high speeds. He’s probably a little bit further away, so we’ll take it a little bit slower with him, and we’ll see with him on Saturday. … We just want to be careful with (Ianni), and same with Burch. We think they’ll both be OK to be in the game, if needed, but with just decided to go a little bit easier today. Like Ozzie as well, we pulled him a little bit early just because he tends to overwork a little bit.”

I heartily agree that Sigi is a genius, and a very soulful guy, which is a big part of that genius. Hopefully, we can show that to people, in addition to the beauty and transformative aspects of the Sounders story. It is a true Northwest legend.
