After starting this bye week with three off days, Sounders FC returns to trying at Starfire this morning. The club went longer than usual — about two and a half hours — and players like Mauro Rosales, Adam Johansson and Steve Zakuani got a lot of work, although Alvaro Fernandez remained mostly on the sideline.

Rosales and Johansson seem likely to be ready for the next league game a weel from Saturday at Chicago, while coach Sigi Schmid said the club is debating using Zakuani in his first Reserve League match on Monday at Chivas USA.

I’ll be back with more soon.
