Brian Mullan, whose reckless tackle cost Steve Zakuani at least a year of his career, will play at CenturyLink Field on Saturday.

Mullan has decided not to address the media in the days leading up to the Sounders match.

However, this morning Zakuani, general manager Adrian Hanauer and coach Sigi Schmid were asked about the visit. Here’s a quick overview from each, and then I’ll be back soon with more from Zakuani.

He’s been playing for almost a year. I have not thought about it at all. I’ve just been focusing on getting myself fit and I think I’ve said in the past and I’ll say again: When he comes, for me, it’s like when any team comes in. It’s no special motivation, even if I was playing. There’s no difference. I wish him the best, I wish that team the best. I never wish ill on anybody. I just want the fans to understand that I’ve got no issues with the guy. It’s not like we have some previous history and he came in to do it. It was just a bad tackle. I wish him the best. The fans will do what they need to do, but my advice is just let it go and support the team: Use that energy to support the team. The guys will need it.

I think personally and I think most of the people in the organization are past it. If this puts the final nail in the coffin of being past it, then fantastic. For me, it’s just another game and a chance to get three points.

We haven’t addressed it yet as a team, but I expect the guys to be professional about it. I think our fans will be, as well. It’s an unfortunate situation what happened last year. Obviously steve and brian have come to terms with it. We just have to go on and we just have to play a normal game and not make that the focal point.
