Le Toux: Always great to play against ex-teammates

New Vancouver Whitecap forward Sebastien Le Toux was the original Sounder. And while he’s been away from the club since 2010, he still recognized plenty of familiar faces across from him today, when he lined up against the Montreal Impact.

After the 2-0 win, he spoke a little about that.

“It’s always great,” he said. “I always keep a contact with my old teammates, and today (there were several from Seattle and Philadelphia). It’s always nice to see them, but when you’re on the field you want to win – but with respect. We know we don’t want to hurt each other, and play fair. It’s always nice, but we wear different jerseys and at the end we have to help our team win.”

(Le Toux also scored the first goal of the game — of the MLS season, for that matter — and I’ll have more on that soon.
