Sounders U-23 tryouts are open to all ages

SoundersU23.com – The Seattle Sounders U-23 has announced their tryouts will be held on March 10 and 11 at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma. Registration to be seen by the Sounders and be a part of the Sounders future is now available on the team’s website -  SoundersU23.com.

The tryouts will be monitored by Sounders U-23 head coach Darren Sawatzky and his staff.  All participants must on SoundersU23.com before the tryout.  There is a $45 fee to participate. While the league is a U-23, each team is allowed up to eight players who are over the age of 23. So for tryout purposes, it is open to all, 18 or older. No walk ups will be allowed to tryout.

“We will fill our roster with players from the local community along with players returning from college programs across the country,” stated Darren Sawatzky, Sounders U-23 head coach. “Finding quality local players is an excellent way to connect the club and the community.”

Formerly the Tacoma Tide, the Sounders U-23 has partnered with the Sounders for the 2012 season. The team serves as a development platform for the Sounders FC first team. They compete in United Soccer Leagues’ Premier Development League, the top U-23 men’s league in North America and features 64 teams across the United States and Canada.

The Sounders U-23 plays in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference. PDL teams play a 16-match, regular-season schedule, which runs from May through July.
