Sebastien Le Toux is returning to the Northwest … but not Seattle: Vancouver.

Le Toux’s trade from Philadelphia to Vancouver had been a recent rumor, but Le Toux apparently has confirmed it on his Twitter account today:

Soon thereafter, the Whitecaps and Union confirmed the deal.

The Whitecaps are leaving today for Arizona. They are scheduled to meet the Sounders in a training game there Monday.

I can deal with Seba doing well on the other side of the country, but I don’t think I want to see him playing for another Cascadian team.

After getting so excited for the Cascadia rivalry when the tree killers added their new dude yesterday, this is a weird and upsetting twist.

It feels like the league somehow turned one of our own against us.

From a league perspective, turning ex-teammates into rivals aside, it seems like it would be more logical to keep as many stars as they can in the weaker Eastern Conference, instead of making it even more lop-sided.

    Like, duh.
