With the MLS SuperDraft coming up Thursday, MLSsoccer.com’s Simon Borg, Jason Saghini and Travis Clark offered up their mock draft last week.

All three predicted that the Sounders would go with a forward with the No. 15 pick in the draft: Borg and Clark naming Casey Townsend of Maryland and Saghini naming Sam Garza, a Generation Adidas player from UC Santa Barbara.

We’ll have some information of our own as draft day draws nearer. But for now, here’s their mock draft. And here’s a link to MLSsoccer.com’s overview draft/combine coverage.

Wow, the next Taylor Twellman? If that kid lives up to that billing sign me up.

I’m looking for the next Lionel Messi

I’m not a fan of the next “insert name of player you’ve heard of” to say a young player is talented. Just letting us know his strengths and weaknesses is sufficient.

Actually, that draft was before the combine. Townsend had a very impressive 2 days and most believe he played his way into the top ten, so the Sounders may have to take a less polished option if they want to draft a forward. Or maybe they can make a deal to move up?
