Keeper Gspurning “a player we like very much”

In the post below, Sounders general manager Adrian Hanauer suggested that the club could be signing a Kasey-Keller-replacement goalkeeper pretty soon.
And since the name of Austrian keeper Michael Gspurning had been publicly floated before, as asked Hanauer about him

“He’s a player we continue to have interest in. We don’t have a contract finalized with any potential goalkeepers. But we have continued to be in contact, and he is a player who we like very much.”

    Important thing to remember in international soccer is the transfer windows. Unless a player is a free agent, players cannot be signed until the next “transfer window” which would be in January 2012. Teams can certainly have preliminary discussions with players and, more likely, their agents, but no official contract would be done until then.
