Dates to remember for Sounders offseason

My story in today’s News Tribune takes a look at the Sounders’ off-season, which began about 19 days before the club had hoped.

However, even at that, it will be a short off-season. Especially this time around with CONCACAF Champions League and MLS both resuming in early March.

Here are some key dates:

Tuesday: CONCACAF quarterfinal draw
Nov. 20: MLS Cup
Nov. 21: Expansion protected list due
Nov. 23: Montreal expansion draft
Jan. 12: MLS SuperDraft
Jan. 17: Supplemental draft
March 6-8: Start of CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals
March 8: Potential MLS First Kick

Now we need to put dates on the following:

    1) Sounders and Seahawks commit to kick-arse new super-turf field (or grass – a guy can dream). Surface guaranteed to be ready for 2012 CCL action.
    2) Mauro resigned as high $ non-DP
    3) Sounders sign top shelf GK.
    4) Sounders sign big fish 3rd DP

    can’t wait for CCL!

Great list exSlack – agree 100%.

Could also add dates that MLS 2012 opening matches for each team are announced and entire season schedule is released (including when we continue our domination of Portland home and away).

Okay, I just have to get the pent-up desire for revenge out of my system:

How about a date for signing a designated head-hunter- anyone even looks like they are thinking of touching Rosales, Zakuani, Montero, whomever, our new DH-H takes the red card in end-of-game added time, but takes the designated head-hunted out for the rest of the season. Can start with the match versus Colorado…

After all, head-hunting works in hockey, and our American fans like blood.
