In addition to the Steve Zakuani health update in the post below, the Sounders also had generally encouraging news about the recoveries of defender Jhon Kennedy Hurtado (knee), forward O’Brian White, and midfielder Brad Evans — who all played in the reserve game at Vancouver this week and returned to training today.

“They did OK,” coach Sigi Schmid said. “We’re pushing Evans. We wanted to push him hard today; we’re probably going to push him hard tomorrow. He’s probably not going to play this weekend still because the last time we thought that we brought him back just a shade too early. (The CONCACAF Champions League match) Tuesday is probably more appropriate for him. But you never know – coaches change their minds all the time, so I might change my mind on that.

“But Kennedy looks all right, so we’ve got to make a decision on him: whether he starts, whether he’s on the bench, how exactly we’re going to approach that one. … O’Brian the same way.”
