It’s Sounders at Sporting KC today at Livestrong Park. These are two of the hottest teams in MLS with one loss between them over their combined last 24 league games. However, that loss was the Sounders’ defeat one week ago at Houston, and they’ll be looking to turn things around quickly … in a very difficult place to do so.

Here’s the preview from this morning’s TNT. And here’s a preview from this morning’s Kansas City Star, which features a look at Sounders goalkeeper Kasey Keller, who presumably is making his final Kansas City appearance tonight.

And below, a quick overview:

SOUNDERS FC (10-5-8, 38 points)
AT SPORTING KANSAS CITY (7-6-9, 30 points)
KICKOFF: 5:30 p.m., Livestrong Park, Kansas City
Ch. 6/16. RADIO: 97.3-FM
HEAD-TO-HEAD: Seattle leads, 4-1, as all games have been decided by a single goal. The Sounders won the earlier game this season when Jeff Parke scored on a header in added time in Seattle.
TEAM LEADERS: For Seattle – G: 6, Fred Montero and Alvaro Fernandez; A: 6, Mauro Rosales; S: 63, Montero; SG: 26, Montero; GA: 1.13, Kasey Keller. For Kansas City – G: 5, Kei Kamara and Teal Bunbury; A: 4, C.J. Sapong; S: 52, Kamara; SG: 17, Omar Bravo; GA: 1.23; Jimmy Nielsen.
NOTES: After starting the season with 10 straight road games, Sporting Kansas City moved into its new home. The team and has run off a franchise-best 14-game unbeaten streak, including a mark of 5-0-4 at Livestrong Park. … This is the fourth of nine consecutive home dates for Sporting. … Defense is a big reason for the surge. Sporting has allowed more than one goal only once in the last 14 outings and a total of six goals in the first seven matches at home.
NEXT: 1 p.m., Aug. 13, Chivas USA, CenturyLink Field.

Good chance to start some new faces and have fun up front, hard hats in the back … Like with the Panama game, focus on the clean sheet.
