Sounders No. 2 goalkeeper Terry Boss isn’t with the team on its long trip due to an apparent concussion suffered July 20 against Manchester United, when six second-half goals whizzed past him.

Coach Sigi Schmid gave this explanation when asked by conference call today if the Man U performance altered the club’s faith in Boss.

“Terry right now is not on this trip because he has concussion-like symptoms, and he actually – the injury occurred in the Man U game on the first goal,” Schmid said. “So maybe if Terry was a little more honest with himself, maybe he should have come out of that game at that point. But obviously it was determined after that game that he had had a concussion on that particular play. So I think we’ve got to be fair to Terry on that and understand that that was the situation that occurred.”

Not sure if it’s live, I never am with FSC, but FCD just went up 1-0 in the 70th minute in El Salvador

Yep just went final: Hoops, 1-0.

  3. I hate to say that a concussion makes sense given his apparent confusion and slow decisionmaking after they scored on him the first time, but it does. Obviously he gets nowhere near all the blame, but he looked really bad.
