This just in from the club:

Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Michael Tetteh has been loaned to USL PRO league club Orlando City SC. The term begins immediately and extends through July 10.

Tetteh, a rookie from UC Santa Barbara, can be re-called by Sounders FC if necessary. He started Tuesday night’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against Kitsap Pumas and had been a member of the match day roster versus New England on Sunday. Tetteh has played in all six MLS Reserve League matches, scoring two goals.

Seattle travels to Carson, Calif. on Monday, July 4 to play the L.A. Galaxy. The match will be televised nationally on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.

Tetteh played all 90 minutes in last night’s U.S. Open Cup win over Kitsap, sometimes at defense and sometimes midfield. Before the transfer was announced today, I asked coach Sigi Schmid at which position Tetteh might eventually settle.

“I think he’s still trying to figure that out,” Schmid said. “He’s a very good attacking left back. And he’s a good defending wide left midfielder. He’s got some offensive skills and some unpredictability in his play attacking-wise that brings some good things to the field. But with him, as all young players, it’s just a matter of consistency. … But his potential is definitely there.”

it will be good for him to get regular time at a lower level.

It sounds like we need to get used to the name Lucas Neill. Interesting move which I can only see happening in conjunction with some other moves such as the trading of one of our CBs (apparently there is interest).
