HEAD TO HEAD: First meeting.
NOTES: The U.S. Open Cup is U.S. Soccer Federation’s national championship, open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. It began in 1914 and is the oldest annual team competition in U.S. sports. … The winner advances to the quarterfinals against the winner of the match between the Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS) and the Los Angeles Blues (USL Pro). If Seattle advances, that game will be played July 12 at Starfire. … Midfielder Matt Friesen leads Kitsap with six goals and 25 shots. Midfielder David Grey leads with three assists. Goalkeeper Bryan Meredith, a Sounders selection in the 2011 SuperDraft, has a 0.53 goals-against average in eight games for the Pumas. … The Sounders are expected to start a lineup primarily made up of reserves.
NEXT: The Sounders return to MLS play at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Los Angeles.
