Tukwila, WA – As part of the Seattle Sounders Women’s community outreach efforts in the greater Renton area, the team has recently donated 100 tickets to the Somalia Youth and Family Club for the team’s upcoming June 12th match against the Los Angeles Strikers. The SYFC is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing various services to Somali and other under served families. The Sounders Women and Starfire Sports have partnered with the SYFC to assist with its youth soccer program that extends to all refugee students within King County. In addition to the donation, the Sounders Women have also committed to supporting the SYFC’s raffle fundraiser Saturday, June 11 at DC’s Bar and Grill. The team’s package includes autographed player posters and three season ticket passes, and all proceeds go toward the SYFC’s soccer program.

The Sounders Women will play the Los Angeles Strikers at the Starfire Stadium on Sunday, June 12th at 3PM. The two teams matched up against each other last Wednesday, with the Sounders picking up a 2-1 win. It was the team’s first win in conference play this season, and the Sounders are currently in 6th place in the W-League Standings. The Strikers are in 5th place heading into this weekend.
