The Sounders Women picked up their first win of the W-League season, and they did it on the road. The Sounders broke the deadlock with less than 15 minutes remaining in the 1st half, on a goal from Emily Hurd, who plays collegiately at Penn State.

Things became tense when the LA Strikers equalized on a shot into the upper corner by Amy Chapman, of the Australian National Team. The 2nd half goal left things tied at Pasadena City College.

Last Sunday, the Sounders lost their match their contest with the Colorado Rush on a goal conceded in the last ten minutes of regulation. Just 3 days later, the Sounders proved a lesson learned. This time, it was Sophie Reiser, of the Sounders, who scored with 6 minutes remaining to earn 3 points for the Seattle Sounders, on the road.

Next up for Seattle are the Santa Clarita Blue Heat, on Friday at 7pm. The match will be played at Valencia High School in Santa Clarita.
