There sure was a time when I never would have expected to write this. However, the L.A. Galaxy has activated David Beckham, and he could make his season debut in a very big game Saturday against Columbus.

Here’s a report from the Galaxy.

  1. Interesting that Beck’s is coming back. I just assumed he was done when injured and wasn’t sure to make of the training. Dude always surprises me.

Speaking of Beckham, Wahl has a review of MLS salaries I just found. Seattle is 5th in payroll. Alonso and Montero make the most underpaid player list. Montero will get a new contract because he’s the star. But I’m officially changing Ozzie’s name to “Pay the man.”

Ozzie is DA Man and should be paid accordingly.

    Who needs Beckham?

  4. Your question got me thinking. You’re right. Nobody really does, which is an amazing thing to say. There was a time when it seemed like Beckham was going to save soccer in America. Now it seems like we barely miss his absence. Our little league grows by leaps and bounds.
