The Sounders’ top two goal-scorers are less than 100 percent certain for the club’s CONCACAF Champions League match Thursday at Marathon of Honduras.

Fred Montero (head, thigh) mostly rode an exercise bike today, but said through a translator (bi-lingual teammate David Estrada) that he will be ready to play. While Zakuani (groin) said he doesn’t know — and between the lines sounded doubtful — that he’ll be on the charter when the Sounders fly out tomorrow.

“It’s sort of a day to day thing with both of them.” coach Sigi Schmid said. “Fredy obviously today we wanted to keep him away from impacts and things like that. But his quad is coming along, and we think he is OK. He hasn’t had any real symptoms, so we think he’s ok that way. Steve it’s just we wanted to see what he could do today and see how he responds tomorrow.”
