The Sounders have completed today’s training at Starfire, less eventfully than yesterday when the Freddy Ljungberg news broke.

Ljungberg was absent again today. And there was no major news as the club prepared for Colorado’s visit on Sunday.

Here is coach Sigi Schmid’s take:

“It was good. We are off tomorrow so we really wanted to push it today. I thought the guys put in a good effort today. It was good. We accomplished what we wanted to achieve from a work standpoint but also working on our defense a little bit, making sure we keep our shape and do a good job defending.”

Tyrone Marshall continues to be mend from a hamstring injury, however he said he believes he can be ready by the weekend.

The Sounders are off tomorrow and return to training Friday at Qwest Field.

  1. Well here’s some interesting news. My spanish isn’t the best but I’m pretty sure he just announced he’s headed for Seattle.

Hmmm, that’s kind of exciting news, if true.
