The Sounders reserves played the University of Washington this afternoon at Starfire, with the pros winning 5-0.

The final goal came an a header from rookie David Estrada, who had made his pro debut Saturday against New York.

Here’s a bit of what coach Sigi Schmid had to say about Estrada’s progress: “I think he is a little more aware of where he is on the field and what passes or what kind of decisions you make on different parts of the field. So how you play in the final third offensively is different than how you play in front of your own goal and you can’t try the same sort of things there. You don’t try to nutmeg somebody or push the ball through somebody’s legs which is nutmeg, in your own third of the field but you can try that in the attacking part. So those are just a matter of knowing where you are on the field and making the right decisions for where you are on the field.”

I’ll have a little more on Estrada and the game later, but here are the basics:

Sounders FC – Terry Boss, Taylor Graham (Jamel Wallace 65), Patrick Ianni, Tyson Wahl, Zach Scott (Stephen King 35), Sanna Nyassi, Peter Vagenas, Nathan Sturgis, David Estrada, Michael Fucito, Pat Noonan (Miguel Montaño 45).

Scoring Summary:
SEA –
SEA – Michael Fucito (Nathan Sturgis) 9
SEA – Tyson Wahl 17
SEA – Michael Fucito 24
SEA – Pat Noonan (Sanna Nyassi) 30
SEA – David Estrada (Sanna Nyassi) 63
