Following up on the post below, here’s what Sounders coach Sigi Schmid had to say today about the status of midfielder/forward Pat Noonan and defender Jeff Parke, both MLS veterans who have been training with the club.

On Noonan: “Noonan obviously is here on trial so we are looking at him and we will make some decisions there in the next day or so.

On whether Noonan could play Saturday: Obviously I have a history with Pat having coached him at Columbus so I know what he is capable of. I know what he can do as a player. He is a player who has played in our league. Playing on turf not unusual for him from all the years he played at New England as well. He is a player who it is not going to take him long to adjust.”

On Parke: “It’s the same. That ball is really in both courts a little bit. It’s a decision that he has to make. It’s a decision we have to make. But he has to make a decision, too.”

  1. SoundersRiot says:

Don’t understand what the hold up is for Parke here…. In his interview he spoke about the doping stigma and how much he’d like to put it behind him. The only way that’s going to happen is to play. Suck it up, sign whatever deal they’re offering, and play! It’s pretty simple. Unless you think you gotta a better deal waiting out there from a better team in a better situation…..
