Seattle Sounders FC has called a press conference for 10 a.m. Thursday.
Indications are that this will be a major announcement. The Sounders aren’t giving any details yet, but it is being treated as a bigger-than-normal announcement. And the person to be introduced won’t be physically present — which could be interpreted in several ways, including some international connection.
We shall see.
Messi decides he’s got plenty of money and would love to settle down in Seattle.

nkufo or saborio would be my guess. both would be big improvements offensively for us.

Don, did the fax or email or whatever say it was a person being announced? Because my money is on an announcement of the opponents for the friendlies this summer.

BEB, the reason I’m thinking “person” rather than mere opponent-announcement is that the press conference will involve a conference call. Now granted, I guess it could be the owner or coach of some international club announcing a friendly.. But that’s not the way I’m reading the tea leaves yet.

Looking forward to it!

I guess right now I would hope that it would be MLS commissioner Don Garber (and head of the players association) on the conference call, stating that a labor deal has been reached between the league and its players and it is full speed ahead for the start of the season.
But I realise that is not likely to occur, at least at a Sounders press conference, as opposed to an MLS press conference.
