Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell: Jimmy Graham “will be huge for us” in the red zone

There’s something we are likely to see plenty of this fall: Russell Wilson throwing a jump ball to Jimmy Graham. This time was at practice during organized team activities that continue through next week at team headquarters in Renton.

Coordinator Darrell Bevell spoke on Tuesday about the growing relationship between the quarterback and his new tight end. The play caller also talked of how Graham’s arrival could have Seattle’s offense in even more two tight-end formations with Luke Willson this coming season. Bevell also talked about Chris Matthews’ emergence outside at wide receiver would

What did you expect Michael Bennett to say now about Jimmy Graham? An apology?

Really, what did you expect Michael Bennett to say?

Yesterday when I wrote about the Seahawks’ funny, glib — outspoken, actually — defensive end and his comments on 710 ESPN radio in Seattle I purposely didn’t include what he said about newly acquired tight end Jimmy Graham. It didn’t one bit surprise me, so I judged it would be (re)stating the obvious.

Bennett, you recall, jawed with Bennett before and throughout a January 2014 playoff game then said this after Seattle beat then-Graham’s New Orleans Saints that day en route to the Seahawks’ first Super Bowl championship: “Nobody likes

NFL draft preview: Possibilities for Seahawks at C & G, starting with Penn St.’s Donovan Smith

Start at the 3:24 mark of this interview I did with CBSSports.com and NFLDraftScout draft guru Rob Rang of Tacoma to hear what offensive linemen the Seahawks may be interested in selecting beginning May 1.

Remember, for now Seattle does not have a selection on April 30, the draft’s featured first day which has only the first round. The Seahawks sent their 31st-overall pick to New Orleans last month for tight end Jimmy Graham.

They also sent two-time Pro Bowl center Max Unger to the Saints to get Graham and an extra pick

Graham trade official; S Jeron Johnson signs with Washington; Jesse Williams says he’s returning–or maybe he doesn’t; Greg Hardy?

Seahawks owner Paul Allen, taking time out from pulling relic warships off an ocean floor, puts the official stamp on the Jimmy Graham trade now being complete, with departed center Max Unger passing his physical with New Orleans:

Backup safety Jeron Johnson became the second Seahawks defensive back to sign with an NFC East team as an unrestricted free

Jimmy Graham reaches out to 7-year old whose sobbing video after his trade to Seahawks went viral

Jimmy Graham just finished a darn snappy first five days as a Seahawk.

We’ve already talked about how he said all the right things and then some about Tuesday’s trade that first shocked him, then made him smile upon realizing he was headed not to some football outpost such as Jacksonville or Oakland but to “the best team in football.”

He wasn’t the only one shocked by his trade from New Orleans to Seattle. Saints fans were aghast. Especially this 7-year-old:

Graham saw this, as did 500,000 others and counting across the

Pete Carroll on KJR radio: he still gets awakened by Super Bowl; Earl Thomas “absolutely” will be ready for season

Credit host Dave Mahler for going beyond the primary news of the Seahawks’ week — the stunning trade to acquire premier tight end Jimmy Graham from New Orleans, the signing of Cary Williams to likely replace Byron Maxwell as a starting cornerback — and asking a checklist full of roster questions and follow-ups from post-Super Bowl issues to coach Pete Carroll today. The question-and-answer session aired live this afternoon on Mahler’s show on Seattle’s 950 KJR radio.

Here are the highlights of what Carroll said:

–All-Pro safety Earl Thomas “absolutely” will be ready for the start of the regular season

Jimmy Graham sees role as changing ways packed-in defenses play Seahawks; Stefen Wisniewski still visiting Seattle

Give Jimmy Graham credit. During the two days of flying his private plane to the gulf coast of Florida, having his career uprooted from the only team he’s known in New Orleans, having someone else fly him to the opposite corner of the country, passing a physical, meeting his new coach, general manager and Seahawks staff, seeing his new city of Seattle and then flying all the way back to Florida, he’s somehow found the time to internalize why he is the newest Seahawk.

Yesterday, on a conference call with Seattle-area reporters, the huge tight end with 171 receptions and 26 touchdowns

Newest Seahawks star Jimmy Graham on trade from Saints: “Highly encouraged, highly motivated”

So much for any fears Jimmy Graham is not happy with getting uprooted off a Florida beach and the only NFL team he’s known in his mega trade to the Seahawks.

The three-time Pro Bowl tight end and 2013 All-Pro said he is “highly motivated, highly encouraged” and “100 percent on board — and that’s with everything” after meeting coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider on Wednesday and “really feeling that everything they are about is winning championships.”

“Winning is all I care about,” Graham said this afternoon while on a conference call with Seattle-area reporters from his
