Is there a part of the Seahawks curious to give UW’s Keith Price a second chance? “Yeah,” Carroll says

That was Keith Price throwing to former University of Washington teammates Kasen Williams, DiAndre Campbell, Michael Hartvigson and Jesse Callier today during UW’s packed pro day at the Dempsey Indoor facility next to Husky Stadium.

There were at least a third more NFL scouts and media types than I’ve seen at any of the multiple UW pro days I’ve attended previously. Today’s attracted far more than were at Jake Locker’s pro day a few years ago.

The latest NFL contingent at UW included Seahawks general manager John Schneider, coach Pete Carroll and most

Richard Sherman gets “a lot” of praise from fellow NFL players for calling league “hypocritical”

Richard Sherman walked onto the same stage inside the Virginia Mason Athletic Center auditorium where last week he made waves across the NFL calling the league “hypocritical.” Alas today, he didn’t have a cardboard cut out of Doug Baldwin with him.

“Apparently, someone kidnapped him, though,” Sherman said of the cardboard version of the Seahawks wide receiver. “We haven’t seen him after that. We were going to put out a search warrant for him. But you know how that goes …”

He didn’t have his good friend Baldwin, the real version, with him,

No surprises with Seahawks’ inactives; keys to K.C. game: Kevin Williams vs run, staying with Lynch

No, that’s not really Russell Wilson outside Arrowhead Stadium here in Kansas City two hours before the Seahawks kick it off against the Chiefs. As a Twitter follower noted, Wilson’s not that short.

It’s 19 degrees here, but the one-to-three inches of snow predicted for yesterday never happened. There’s only a dusting.

No surprises with the Seahawks’ inactive players today: S Steven Terrell, DB Marcus Burley, LB Brock Coyle, LB Bobby Wagner, T Andrew McDonald, G James Carpenter, TE RaShaun Allen.

As expected, Kam Chancellor is active and will start in his first game in three weeks. He had been out with

LB Bobby Wagner out again for Sunday at Kansas City, six Seahawks miss practice with injuries

Coyle’s injury is the only new one listed; coach Pete Carroll praised the undrafted rookie today for playing through the injury in his second consecutive start for Wagner, who will miss his fifth consecutive game since getting a turf-toe ligament injury Oct. 12 against Dallas. Carroll said today Wagner has a chance to play next week at home against Arizona.

All others were listed last week. Willson sprained his ankle last weekend during Seattle win over the New York Giants, though the team is encouraged how quickly he is recovering and Carroll indicated there’s a chance the fill in

Hey, “next man up!” Time for you again; Seahawks put TE Zach Miller on injured reserve

Since it’s another day, must be another Seahawks veteran starter going on injured reserve.

The epidemic of losses and the need for fill-ins to step up continued today with Pete Carroll announcing tight end Zach Miller is now on the season-ending injured-reserve list and needs a second surgery on his ankle because he is not recovering from the first procedure in September.

Monday, run-stuffing defensive tackle Brandon Mebane went on IR with a torn hamstring. Carroll clarified in the start of the video above that the eight-year veteran tore the muscle “drastically,” but

Seahawks will be without key run-stopping DT Brandon Mebane at KC, likely to get Kam Chancellor, Malcolm Smith back

One big loss, perhaps two gains this week on the Seahawks’ defense for their huge test Sunday at Kansas City.

Coach Pete Carroll said key run-stopping defensive tackle Brandon Mebane has a “really legit” pulled hamstring and thus won’t play Sunday for Seattle (6-3) against the Chiefs (6-3), who have the NFL’s fifth-ranked rushing offense at 135.8 yards per game. Sounds like Mebane is going to be out a while, perhaps multiple games including next week’s at home against NFC West-leading Arizona (8-1).

Carroll said the team expects to know more on the

Seahawks snap counts from win over Oakland; TNT day-after chat 1pm PT today

Join me for our weekly News Tribune live, day-after chat today at 1 p.m. PT here on the blog.

Here are the snap counts from yesterday’s Seahawks win over Oakland. Notice how much more Paul Richardson played. Fullback Will Tukuafu is going to get more than 12 snaps in the coming games, methinks.

On defense, you can essentially break down the amount of time Seattle was in nickel, five defensive backs, by the percentages for middle linebacker Brock Coyle and nickel back Marcus Burley. This appears to be one of the only times this season Seattle was in base and

Four Seahawks starters out, Chancellor, Unger, Okung questionable for Sunday’s game against Oakland.

That’s four starters out and three more questionable for the Seahawks Sunday against the Raiders.

Not exactly the picture of health.

While this is standard fare for NFL teams in the middle of the regular season, it is a heftier injury load than the Seahawks have had to carry the previous two seasons — certainly more than last season when they were relatively fortunate and healthy en route to winning the Super Bowl.

Byron Maxwell’s ongoing calf strain means Tharold Simon will start for the third consecutive time. It will be the second-year man’s third NFL start. Raiders rookie
