Seahawks waive-injured Brooks, Gilreath, Horace Miller; Farwell, Jefferson, Davis to IR; Pinkins reserve-non-football injury list

The Seahawks are down to the NFL-mandated limit of 75 players in advance of today’s 1 p.m. deadline after making seven more moves this morning.

They waived-injured defensive tackle Michael Brooks, wide receiver David Gilreath and linebacker Horace Miller.

Seattle also placed backup middle linebacker and 2013 special-teams captain Heath Farwell (groin), cornerback A.J. Jefferson (ankle) and C.J. Davis (calf) on the season-ending injured-reserve list.

Farwell sustained what coach Pete Carroll said yesterday was a major groin injury that will likely require surgery. The 10-year veteran did that while jumping to defend a Chicago Bears pass in the end zone

Impressive rookie DE Cassius Marsh injured in Seahawks practice, will have MRI on knee; Percy Harvin just fine

Fourth-round draft pick Cassius Marsh, whom coach Pete Carroll singled out last week in Denver for excelling in the Seahawks’ exhibition opener, went down in the practice that just ended with a knee injury. A team spokesman said the rookie from UCLA will have a magnetic resonance imaging exam on the knee to determine the extent of the damage. But it didn’t look good.

Lynch, listed at 5 feet 11 and 215 pounds (Carroll refused to say what he really weighs), is in his second full week of practice after holding out for the

Seahawks back at practice this morning for Friday’s exhibition against San Diego

Heading back to Renton this morning to begin another condensed week of training-camp practices before Friday’s second exhibition game at home against San Diego. It’s the Seahawks’ next-to-last public practice of the preseason — and, in fact, the last public ones of the year at the VMAC — and because it is on a sunny weekend there are likely to be a few (thousand) folks there today.

I will be watching to see how much the three starting offensive linemen who missed the preseason opener Thursday at Denver practice today and tomorrow: center Max Unger (a new groin injury), left
