He’s arrived: Jermaine Kearse stars on stage as Seahawks touch down at Super Bowl 49

Jermaine Kearse looked down from his exalted platform perch. Reporters from across the nation, Latin America and Europe were standing two-deep in a semicircle below him.

And the kid from Lakewood just smiled.

“Yeah,” Kearse said Sunday inside a tent at the Arizona Grand Resort. “It’s just a blessing.”

Less than three years ago no NFL team wanted him. At least not enough to bother drafting the former Lakes High School and University of Washington star.

Exactly 253 players got selected in the 2012 NFL draft. Only

Richard Sherman: Patriots won’t be punished “as long as Roger Goodell, Robert Kraft are taking pictures at their respective houses”

Hello from the Super Bowl run-up at sunny, 75-degree Phoenix. The Seahawks arrived just after 2 p.m. at a corporate-jet terminal of Sky Harbor Airport then got a police escort for the 10-minute ride to their Arizona Grand Hotel near South Mountain. On the corner of Baseline Road and the sweeping resort’s entrance lane, maybe 100 or so Seahawks fans in the video above greeted the NFC champions with cheers of “SEA! HAWKS!”

The news of the 35 minutes or so that Michael Bennett, Russell Wilson, Russell Okung, Earl Thomas, Jermaine Kearse and

Remarkable rookie Garry Gilliam is playing this Super Bowl for far more than just his Seahawks

Garry Gilliam tricked the Green Bay Packers, shocked the football world and jolted the Seahawks back into the NFC championship game with his stunning touchdown catch on a fake field goal.

It was as improbable as the route Seattle’s undrafted rookie tackle took to get to Sunday’s team arrival in Phoenix for the Super Bowl.

When Gilliam roared at the screaming fans in the south end zone after the greatest play of his remarkable life this past weekend, an entire community in Pennsylvania rocked like it was CenturyLink Field East.

“I knew he was lined up on the left

The Seahawks were wowed by the tens of thousands of fans who lined the streets of the City of SeaTac on a January Sunday morning to send the team off to the Super Bowl.

It was a college-like,

Seahawks to speak upon Sunday arrival at Super Bowl: Bennett, Kearse, Okung, Sherman, Thomas, Wilson

Lakewood’s Jermaine Kearse has again made the big time. One week after his catch in overtime won the NFC title for Seattle, Kearse is one of six Seahawks who will be the first players to speak to the media upon the NFC champions’ arrival tomorrow afternoon in Phoenix for Super Bowl XLIX.

Seems like Bennett is about to become a breakout media star of Super Bowl week. The rest of the nation is about to find out what we already know: He’ll say anything at any time, a lot of it highly entertaining.

I leave SeaTac tomorrow morning

GM John Schneider on Lynch: “I kind of love his act”; Maxwell a top offseason priority; Wilson talks coming

Seahawks general manager John Schneider talked after practice here at team headquarters in Renton today to the local media for the first time since before the draft in May.

The highlights:

–Schneider said of Marshawn Lynch: “He’s under contract for next year.” The GM called Lynch “a warrior,” adding “You’d be hard-pressed to find a better running back in the National Football League.”

After he said that, I felt compelled to ask him, “So you are not tired of ‘his act’?” That was a reference to this and other unsubstantiated report in October that the Seahawks would be getting

Seattle PD donates its bike Michael Bennett rode in celebration around CenturyLink Field to DE’s charity

The hat Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett is wearing is a tribute from back home in Houston.

Last week, Bennett learned the father of a best friend who was a mentor of Bennett passed away after a battle with cancer. Bennett learned of the death of Mark Alexander a couple days before the NFC championship game, and he was emotional soon after the Seahawks’ win last weekend while discussing the death.

His mentor’s wife sent Bennett the hat, and the Seahawk said he’s going to where it all week.

Bennett said the Seattle
