NFL’s league calendar for 2015-early ’16 shows draft site TBD; Seahawks single-game sales info

The NFL today put out its list of key dates for the 2015 season stretching into the start of the 2016 league year. The draft will be April 28-30, but the league still hasn’t determined the site. This past spring it was in Chicago after decades of it being in New York.

Something tells me the draft will be in Los Angeles next spring, as a news-peg springboard for what by then will be the likelihood the Chargers, Raiders or Rams could be playing in L.A. beginning with the ’16 season.

Fan’s-eye view from end zone where Jermaine Kearse caught the pass to send Seattle to the Super Bowl

Reader Paul G. sent this video to me a friend shot from the lower bowl, east side of CenturyLink Field, what appears to be in or around section 214 — on the end zone where Jermaine Kearse made his winning touchdown catch. As Paul points out and you can hear, his buddy’s neighbors around his seat could sense the play to send Seattle to another Super Bowl was about to happen, with some “Yes! Yes!” calls as Kearse runs his post route on Green Bay’s Tramon Williams.

A cool, first-hand reaction shot to one of the biggest plays in the

Winds supposed to calm some; SEA pass rush key to NFC title game; the pick

The Seahawks and Packers woke for NFC title game day to high winds around the Seattle area; some areas got gusts up to 40 and 50 mph. But a high-wind warning for Seattle and suburbs ended at 8 a.m., and those winds are supposed to calm somewhat to 16 miles per hour from kickoff at 12:05 p.m. through much of the game.

Even the local Puget Sound Energy folks are in Seahawks game mode while advising about interruptions of service overnight:

49ers concluding work as stadium work continues

The 49ers will conclude Bay Area practices this afternoon before flying up to Seattle.

The team’s practice facility is in Santa Clara and literally in the shadow of Levi’s Stadium, which is still in the final stages of preparation to become their new home next season.

And there is even a Northwest connection: The first event scheduled in the stadium is a Major League Soccer match on Aug. 2, pairing Seattle Sounders FC against the San Jose Earthquakes.

In S.F., as in N.O, CenturyLink noise is top topic

Just as last week in New Orleans, the most-asked questions by Bay Area media today involved the noise at CenturyLink Field and how the 49ers plan to deal with it.

And – again, just like last week with the Saints — the Niners’ acknowledged that the CLink is an amazingly loud place, while also generally indicating confidence that they’d be able to deal with it.

Here’s what a few 49ers had to say:

Center Jonathan Goodwin on making his line calls: “You just have to be loud: get it to them somehow some way.”

Goodwin on any value in having

A new name for Qwest: CenturyLink Field

Considered a possibility in April when CenturyLink purchased Qwest, news of Qwest Field changing its name became official today.

The Seattle Seahawks released a statement this afternoon, stating that Qwest Field will now be called CenturyLink Field and CenturyLink Field Event Center.

“Although the name of this facility will change; the history, tradition and spirit of the 12th MAN and the Sounders FC supporters will never change,” Seahawks president Peter McLoughlin said in a prepared statement. “We are excited about our partnership with CenturyLink and our on-going commitment to positively impact the fans of the Pacific Northwest.”

The team
