Hawks preseason schedule includes the return of Hasselbeck

The Seattle Seahawks released the team’s preseason schedule for the 2012 season, and it includes the return of a familiar face to CenturyLink Field.

The Seahawks will face the Tennessee Titans and longtime quarterback Matt Hasselbeck in Week 1 of the preseason at CenturyLink field between Aug. 9 and Aug. 13.

Seattle will then hit the road for Weeks 2 and 3, travelling to Denver to face Peyton Manning and the Broncos between Aug. 16 and Aug. 20, and visiting Kansas City the following week between Aug. 23 and Aug. 26.

The Seahawks then conclude preseason play for the seventh consecutive year by facing the Oakland Raiders, this time at home at CenturyLink Field Aug. 29 or 30.

The games will be broadcast on KCPQ/Q13 Fox and also carried on 710 ESPN and 97.3 FM.

Hawks regular season schedule announced

The league just released the NFL regular season schedule, which you can view here.

For the first time in three years the Seattle Seahawks were scheduled for a nationally televised, regular season game.

The Seahawks have a Thursday night contest on the NFL Network at home against Philadelphia on Dec. 1, and then the following week host St. Louis in a Monday night contest on Dec. 12 on ESPN.

The Seahawks had no scheduled nationally televised games in 2009 and 2010, and just two in 2008, Mike Holmgren’s last as head coach in Seattle – a Thanksgiving Day game in Dallas and a Sunday night tilt in Tampa.

The Seahawks regular season finale last season against St. Louis last year was flexed into the schedule for a national audience on NBC with the NFC West title on the line.

Seattle opens the season Sunday, Sept. 11 on the road against San Francisco, followed by games at Pittsburgh, at home against Arizona and Atlanta, and then on the road at the N.Y. Giants before getting a bye at week six, Sunday Oct. 16.

NFL releases Seahawks preseason schedule

The NFL released preseason schedules for the league today, and the Seattle Seahawks will be playing some familiar opponents again this year.

Seattle starts preseason play Aug. 11 in San Diego against the Chargers in a Thursday night, nationally televised tilt on ESPN.

The Seahawks follow it up with a home contest against Minnesota Aug. 20, travel to Denver to take on the Broncos on Aug. 26 or 27 and finish off the preseason at home against Oakland on Sept. 2.

NFL schedule released: Hawks shut out again for national games

The league just released the NFL regular season schedule, which you can check out here.

For the the second straight year the Hawks will not have a nationally televised game, and for the first time in back-to-back seasons since the 1982-83 seasons. The Seahawks had no nationally televised games last season, and Seattle had just two in 2008, Mike Holmgren’s last as head coach in Seattle, a Thanksgiving Day game in Dallas and a Sunday night tilt in Tampa.

Seattle opens the season Sunday, Sept. 12 at home against San Francisco, followed by games at Denver, at home against San Diego and at St. Louis before getting a bye at week five, Sunday Oct. 10.

Seattle then finishes the season at Chicago, at home against Arizona, at Oakland, N.Y. Giants, at Arizona, at New Orleans, Kansas City, Carolina, at San Francisco, Atlanta, at Tampa Bay and the final game at home against St. Louis.

Hawks preseason schedule released

The league released the preseason schedule today, and the Seahawks will face Tennessee and Green Bay at home, Minnesota and Oakland on the road.

Seattle usually plays a steady diet of AFC West teams during the exhibition season to cut down on travel, but likely only plays Oakland this year because the Seahawks play the AFC West during the regular season. Dates for the games have not been announced.

The regular season schedule is expected to be announced in mid-April, but Seattle’s opponents are already locked in.

2009 Training Camp Schedule

Here’s the schedule for the first two weeks of training camp leading up to the first preseason game on Aug. 15 at San Diego. For open practices you must register at to attend. I’m not sure there’s any spots available at this point. However, if you can’t get into the open practices at the VMAC, you can attend one of the open practices being held at the University of Washington on Friday, Aug. 7 and Tuesday, Aug. 18. Both practices begin at 6:45 p.m.
