I just got in from Chicago and arrived at the VMAC. The players will have an exit meeting and will be available about 12:30 p.m. today, so we’ll have some reaction players on this season.

That pushes our regular Monday Morning QB chat to 3 p.m. today. Sorry for the adjustment, but we don’t have time for the chat right now with the players available shortly. Thanks for your patience and we’ll talk soon.

Also, according to the team, tight end John Carlson and cornerback Marcus Trufant checked out of a Chicago hospital after being treated for serious concussions …

The Seahawks have scheduled a practice for this afternoon at 3 o’clock at the VMAC. Coach Mike Holmgren will be available afterward. I’ll have details thereafter.

Trufant gets player of week honors

Make it two straight NFC player of the week honors for the Seattle Seahawks.

On Wednesday, Marcus Trufant was selected for his three-interception game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Last week, Lofa Tatupu won the honor for his three-interception game against the Philadelphia Eagles. it marks the first time in team history the Seahawks have recorded back-to-back three-interception games. The last time a pair of teammates had three interceptions in consecutive games was in 1962 when the Buffalo Bills’ Marv Matuszak and Carl Charon did it.

Trufant also had six tackles and scored on an 84-yard return-touchdown

We have a teleconference with Rams RB Steven Jackson in about 15 minutes. Mike Holmgren’s news conference is at noon, and Scott Linehan’s is at 12:20, which means Darrin Beene will cover the Linehan stuff and I will be there for Holmgren. We’ll both file stuff after all the press conferences and then today’s practice at 1:35.

Don’t know if you saw this little item, but David Greene was cut from the Patriots’ practice squad yesterday.

Happy Halloween folks. The Seahawks get back to work this afternoon, after Mike Holmgren has his noon press conference. Who practices and who does not will be a big thing to watch because on Monday Holmgren said that he expects everybody who sat out on Monday to practice, at least the ones without serious injuries. That includes Deion Branch, who has been out since the first half of the Pittsburgh game. DJ Hackett I thought was moving pretty well on Monday, so I don’t really think his return is an issue. But I am interested to see how the timing

The Tampa Bay trip is only the second venture into the Eastern time zone this season for the Seahawks and those of us who cover them. I’ll be leaving for the airport by 4 a.m. Pacific tomorrow (five hours from now … yikes) and making a connection before landing in Tampa sometime late Saturday afternoon. The plan will be to check in here upon getting situated in the hotel. “See” you then.
