Will Seahawks trade up in today’s 2nd round. Better question: Why should they?

So now it’s day two, the Seahawks’ time to jump into the NFL draft after basking in the Jimmy Graham glow during last night’s round one. They have their initial pick right now at 63 overall at the bottom of the second round that begins at 4 p.m. Pacific Time, and then the 95th-overall choice near the end of round three tonight.

The talk now is: Will Seattle, with a league-high 11 picks, trade up higher in the second round today?

What might prompt general manager John Schneider to do that?

The popular buzz (for whatever that may or

No baby delievery for Sherman; among Seahawks’ Super Bowl inactives: NFC title game hero Garry Gilliam

Richard Sherman’s (very) pregnant girlfriend is not imminently close to labor with their son, so the Seahawks’ All-Pro cornerback is indeed full-go for today’s Super Bowl.

Undrafted rookie free agent Garry Gilliam is inactive for Super Bowl 49, two weeks after the former Penn State tight end caught a fake-field-goal touchdown that sparked the Seahawks’ rally past Green Bay in the NFC championship. Gilliam’s mother Thelma “Vene” Shifflett and her older son made the trip from Carisle, Pennsylvania, on Thursday to be here for Gilliam.

Seattle’s other inactvies: third-string quarterback B.J. Daniels, cornerback Marcus Burley, center Patrick Lewis,

Seahawks’ Super Bowl game day is finally here in foggy Phoenix

Happy Super Bowl morning from foggy Phoenix, so foggy I can’t see across the street here downtown. I can actually hear fog horns — no kidding — outside my hotel. A Seattle kind of morning.

With Seahawks fans everywhere in this city. University of Phoenix Stadium might become CenturyLink Field South today.

The Seahawks’ buses are massing at the Arizona Grand Resort hotel a few miles south of where I am. I’ll be heading to the stadium just before noon today, well ahead of the 4:30 p.m. local time kickoff.

That above is our News Tribune

Kam Chancellor: “Yeah, I can get up there”; early primers on Seahawks-Packers for NFC title

Kam Chancellor prides himself on his basketball skills. He showed them Saturday night against Carolina when he astoundingly leaped completely over the field-goal snapper — twice.

–Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has his weekly Monday press conference at noon today. streams those live on its site. Our weekly Monday Seahawks chat will begin as usual at 1 p.m. today here on the blog.

–The story on Sunday’s NFC championship-game matchup, and the next-opponent info box I filed for today’s News Tribune:

TNT’s Seahawks day-after chat following win over Arizona — and right before another huge one at SF

The Seahawks get right back at practice today and tomorrow in Renton instead their usual two days off from the field. Instead of basking in the afterglow of Sunday’s 19-3 win over NFC West-leading Arizona, their most complete performance since Sept. 4’s opener, the Seahawks (7-4) must get primed for Thursday night’s showdown at San Francisco (7-4) in a rematch of last January’s crazy NFC championship game.

No surprises with Seahawks’ inactives; keys to K.C. game: Kevin Williams vs run, staying with Lynch

No, that’s not really Russell Wilson outside Arrowhead Stadium here in Kansas City two hours before the Seahawks kick it off against the Chiefs. As a Twitter follower noted, Wilson’s not that short.

It’s 19 degrees here, but the one-to-three inches of snow predicted for yesterday never happened. There’s only a dusting.

No surprises with the Seahawks’ inactive players today: S Steven Terrell, DB Marcus Burley, LB Brock Coyle, LB Bobby Wagner, T Andrew McDonald, G James Carpenter, TE RaShaun Allen.

As expected, Kam Chancellor is active and will start in his first game in three weeks. He had been out with
