Another day, another Bruce Irvin assertion on where he wants to play

Fun from this early-summer weekend:

By now, you know the deal: The Seahawks this spring declined to exercise the $7.8 million option that would have added a fifth year to Irvin’s rookie contract, for the 2016 season. That means, as of now, Irvin can become an unrestricted free agent following the 2015 season.

The team would prefer it not get that far. Seattle hopes to sign its

Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell: Jimmy Graham “will be huge for us” in the red zone

There’s something we are likely to see plenty of this fall: Russell Wilson throwing a jump ball to Jimmy Graham. This time was at practice during organized team activities that continue through next week at team headquarters in Renton.

Coordinator Darrell Bevell spoke on Tuesday about the growing relationship between the quarterback and his new tight end. The play caller also talked of how Graham’s arrival could have Seattle’s offense in even more two tight-end formations with Luke Willson this coming season. Bevell also talked about Chris Matthews’ emergence outside at wide receiver would

Jimmy Graham’s roaring, dunking start, more absurdly early June observations at OTAs

There was the source of the buzz during the Seahawks’ fifth practice of organized team activities Tuesday in Renton. Yes, it was June 2 and they were practicing basically in underwear and not even in helmets. Still, Jimmy Graham wowed.

Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell had him lined up in the slot, on a wing, at the end of the interior line like an “old-fashioned” tight end and on the flanks as a wide receiver. The play caller said after the show that’s how the offense will employ Graham this season, as the Saints

Russell Wilson on Seahawks contract: “I believe it’s going to work out. I want to be here for a long time.”

Russell Wilson says he hopes to sign a new contract that will keep him with the Seahawks for “a long time.” He says nothing has discouraged him from believing that will happen.

The agent for the two-time Super Bowl quarterback said last week he is “optimistic” he can get that deal done.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider, the man heading the negotiations, has said how much the franchise wants Wilson for the long term.

Coach Pete Carroll went even longer-term last month, saying: “We are so excited about getting Russell (an extension) and

Kam Chancellor, finally surgery-free: “This is the strongest offseason I’ve had”

The Seahawks will be back on the field Tuesday for their next three-day week of organized team activities at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton.

Kam Chancellor will back on the field, as he was all last week. That is one of the more remarkable feats of Seattle’s offseason.

The thumping, key strong safety seemed destined for yet another offseason surgery a few months ago. He looked out of Feb. 1’s Super Bowl when he got tangled with a teammate and banged knees going for a pass at the end of the

Kam Chancellor, finally surgery-free: “This is the strongest offseason I’ve had”

The Seahawks are back on the field today for the third of their three days this week of organized team activities at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton. Quarterback Russell Wilson was expected to participate for the first time this week after being with Jimmy Graham in Miami Monday to attend the funeral of Graham’s mentor and manager, and after Wilson attended the funeral of the father of fellow teammate Cliff Avril Thursday in Jacksonville.

Kam Chancellor was back on the field, too, as he’s been all week. That is one of

Transcript of the entire 26 minutes Russell Wilson’s agent Mark Rodgers spoke today on Seattle’s 710 ESPN radio

Only because I care (and had two hours to burn transcribing, I guess). The comments in bold are what I see as highlights:

Mark Rodgers, agent for Russell Wilson, on Seattle’s 710 ESPN Radio May 28, 2015

How’s Russell doing? We know he hasn’t been at the first couple days of OTAs.

“You know what, he’s doing fine. It’s been an emotionally rough week for Russell. Obviously, he was in Miami along with (Seahawks VP of player relations) Mo Kelly for the funeral of Jimmy Graham’s best friend, close adviser, really the mother figure of his life. And Russell got to

Agent Mark Rodgers “optimistic” he’ll reach deal to make Russell Wilson a Seahawk “for a very, very long time”–and there’s no deadline

Agent Mark Rodgers broke his public silence on his negotiations with the Seahawks on a contract extension beyond 2015 for quarterback Russell Wilson this morning by talking to 710 ESPN Seattle.

The agent’s message for you via the “Brock and Salk Show” Thursday morning: “As a Seahawks’ fan, it’s a no-brainer to think that Russell Wilson will be a Seahawk for life. And I tend to be very, very optimistic. … So as long as I am talking to the Seahawks, it’s with a tone of optimism, it’s with the idea of optimism…

“The goal here is at
