Seahawks sign FB Spencer Ware

The Seattle Seahawks announced that the team has signed sixth-round draft choice fullback Spencer Ware to a multi-year contract.

Ware, the 194th overall selection in this year’s draft, becomes the eighth Seattle draft selection to agree to terms.

Running back Christine Michael (second-round), cornerback Tharold Simon (fifth-round) and tackle Michael Bowie (seventh-round) remain unsigned.

First reported by ProFootballTalk.com, the Seattle Seahawks reportedly agreed to terms with the team’s fourth round pick, defensive tackle Jaye Howard on a four-year deal.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Seahawks have not confirmed this report.

With Howard’s deal reportedly done, Utah State running back Robert Turbin, also a fourth round pick by the Seahawks, is the only one of Seattle’s 10 draft picks that remains unsigned heading into the team’s rookie minicamp that runs from Friday to Sunday.

Word of first round draft pick Bruce Irvin agreeing to terms with the Seattle Seahawks emerged earlier today.

But the Seahawks announced that eight of team’s 10 draft choices had agreed to terms this afternoon.

Joining Irvin are Utah Sate linebacker Bobby Wagner, a second-round choice; third round draft choice quarterback Russell Wilson; fifth round draft choice linebacker Korey Toomer; sixth round draft choices cornerback Jeremy Lane and strong safety Winston Guy; and seventh round draft choices offensive guard J.R. Sweezy and defensive end Greg Scruggs.

The Seahawks Seahawks reached an agreement with second round draft pick Max Unger on Wednesday, and the rookie offensive lineman is expected to be signed and ready to participate in the team’s first day of camp on Friday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is believed that Unger’s deal is a four-year contract valued at just under $4 million, $1.95 million of which is guaranteed.

Hawks sign seventh rounder DE Reed

Along with signing seventh round pick safety Courtney Greene and sixth round pick quarterback Mike Teel, the Seahawks have signed seventh round pick defensive end Nick Reed, the team announced today.

With those three picks signed, that leaves first rounder Aaron Curry, second round pick Max Unger, third round pick Deon Butler and seventh rounder Cameron Morrah as the team’s draft picks yet to sign with Seattle. Terms of the Reed deal were not disclosed.
