Starting center Max Unger is back practicing for the Seahawks for the first time since Tuesday. Unger, who missed Thursday’s exhibition opener at Denver with what coach Pete Carroll described after the game as a groin injury, was limited somewhat during offensive-line drills at the start of the morning practice at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center, mainly holding a blocking bag as a “defender” against his fellow blockers. But he took some snaps near the end of individual drills.

Stephen Schilling, the former Bellevue High School star signed as a guard from San Diego as a free agent this offseason, also took snaps during those individual drills.

Starting left tackle Russell Okung and starting left guard James Carpenter are practicing, as they did in their returns from injury last week. Both joined Unger in missing the game in Denver, and the Broncos swarmed through Seattle’s makeshift line.

The only personnel move so far of the new week: For the second time since Tuesday, the Seahawks have signed cornerback Thomas “Trey” Wolfe, an undrafted free agent from Division-II Fort Valley State — and two other schools in a college career spanning six years.

To make room on the training-camp roster, the team released linebacker Mike Taylor. Taylor spent a short time on Seattle’s practice squad last season, then signed the former Wisconsin Badger in February.

The 5-foot-11, 193-pound Wolfe is wearing jersey No. 1 — the same number he had last week in his first practice for Seattle. He immediately had Percy Harvin catch a pass in front of him on one of his first plays. The Seahawks released him a day later.

Now he’s back.

I don’t blame Carroll for holding out Okunger from playing against frighton knighton & Ware the scare in a pre-season game that was the Broncos SuperBowl.
