The Seahawks have signed fourth-round linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis out of Boston College and wide receiver Kevin Norwood out of Alabama. That means the Seahawks have signed all nine 2014 draft picks.

Seattle also signed linebacker Horace Miller out of UTEP. Miller was at rookie minicamp. Here’s a pre-draft story on Miller, who ran a 4.44-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day and is 6-feet tall and 237 pounds.

  1. Another Malcolm Smith-type, but I have no problem with stockpiling linebackers with elite speed. We may not be able to retain Smith, after all. Here’s the kind of red hot pace Smith was on, 2 pick-6’s, and 3 picks overall in the Seahawks last 4 games:

Pick 6 during the last game of the year vs. St Louis.
Game ending INT vs SF in the NFCCG.
Pick 6 against Manning in SB XLVIII.

If Malcolm continues on this pace, he will become a Derrick Brooks type playmaker for us this year. And with his speed and instincts, this defense lets him fly around and take advantage in having a huge impact.

With so much cap money dedicated to the Legion of Boom and on the D line cheap young LB is the only way we can have it. So the star LB the arise up in our system will more than likely go else where.

@jawpeace That was my first thought when we knew the LOB contracts were coming. You have to cut somewhere else.

Seattle has shown an ability identify quality linebackers in the draft and FA.

I see the LB position somewhat like the RB position in the NFL; it’s devalued a bit. Which is good for us.

KPL and Miller both compare in size closely to Ryan Shazier, 1st round pick.

KPL put up better combine #’s and Miller had pro-day numbers that were comparable to Shazier.

Hoping we found a couple steals here.

It’s this next offseason that I’m definitely not looking forward to. Have fun watching Bobby Wags, K.J., and SB MVP this year as Hawks, cause it could be the last time we see all 3 as Hawks again.
Crazy things happen though, so we’ll see.

Really want Hawks to retain Bobby Wagner, or KJ, but prefer Wagner. I just think in the long run Wagner has more potential. Love the way the Hawks draft fast LB who are smart, and meaner than you’d think. Does anyone else remember Moreno getting body slammed in the SB? Would never expect that from Wagner.
