Pete Carroll confirmed Kam Chancellor’s offseason hip surgery and said he should be ready by training camp.

“Kam’s making great progress,” Carroll said. “We think he’s going to be back in plenty of time for camp and all that. Really glad we could get a chance to fix him. He’s been dealing with the hip thing for a while. So, he should be in great shape. There’s no problems. Everything’s ahead of schedule. We’re counting on him being with us throughout.”

  1. As long as Kam and Okung are 100% by the start of training camp, that’s all that really matters.

Wpw I thought Kam was playing at an All Pro level by the end of the season and he was not 100%! Opposing WR that play the Hawks this year will probably read this, soil themselves, then go lay in the fetal position sucking their thumb.

    “WOW”

    KAM ROCKS!

  5. Watching the NFL’s top 100 and still can’t believe that RW was #51 last year and RG3 was soo much higher

Killa Kam means more to this team than Okung does. Sorry to say, but Okung is just slightly above average as far as LT’s go in this league. There are a lot of “slightly above average” starters in this league. I am not even sure if the Seahawks brass will try very hard to retain Okung once his contract expires.

Kam is one of a kind in this league. There is no other strong safety in the league that has both his measurables and his ability. There’s no other SS in the league that hits quite like Kam. Hell, there are LB’s in this league that can’t hit people the way Kam does. If his body holds up, Chancellor is going down as one of the best ever at his position. I seriously doubt Okung will earn that sort of distinction.

However much praise Kam can get, he will always be underrated in my book. I think the great Ronnie Lott summed it up when he said Kenny Easley is the greatest safety there ever was and if he had to pick one guy who reminds him of Kenny, it’s Kam. That’s the only comment I’ve heard that does Kam justice. Kam’s only drawback is he’s going to get ET killed, because I think ET has this idea that he has to go out there and crush people like Kam does, but he rattles himself silly from time to time.
