We’re on to the third round in our look at John Schneider draft picks.

Away we go:

2010
No third-round pick.

2011
John Moffitt, OG
Overview:
This did not work. Moffitt was traded to the Cleveland Browns last summer, before the trade was rescinded. He was then traded to the Denver Broncos for defensive tackle Sealver Siliga. Siliga was released, brought back to the practice squad, then signed by the New England Patriots to their practice squad. He has 15 career tackles.

2012
Russell Wilson, QB
Overview:
Contrary to Moffitt, you may have heard this worked. We don’t need to detail that much in this space.  The Vikings, Bills, Jaguars and Chiefs all could have selected Wilson in the third round before the Seahawks. Imagine him and Adrian Peterson? Or him as the offensive centerpiece for Gus Bradley? Or him with Jamaal Charles and the Chiefs’ defense?

2013
Jordan Hill, DT
Overview:
Hill played little in seven games last year, though he should get more of a chance this season. Like much of the 2013 Seahawks draft class, their impact is expected to be felt more this season. Here’s John Schneider on the 2013 draft before the playoffs this season:

“I think this year’s draft was a little bit more toward 2014 than it was 2013. You never want to see guys getting hurt with Tharold (Simon) and Jesse (Williams) and Jordan’s never really been able to let it rip and Christine’s had a hard time because Robert (Turbin) has stepped up. I guess the way I view it is it’s more about looking toward next year with these guys, and I think they’d all tell you they were extremely excited about next year.”

2014
No pick. The Minnesota Vikings have Seattle’s pick, which will be 96th overall, following the Percy Harvin trade.

If Jacksonville had selected Wilson, Gus would not be there.

  2. I prefer to think about RDub with Beastmode and the Hawks D

  3. banosser says:

Has there been any Jesse Williams update?

  4. Yes. Jesse Williams did not get arrested at LAX for making a comment about a bomb :-)

  5. doubledink says:

yes, Jessie Williams did not challenge Michael Bowie to an arm wrestling contest and lose.

  6. Jesse Williams is, the most interesting man in the world.

  7. banosser says:

Re JW update… awesome.. thanks guys ;)

  8. Southendzone says:

Todd or anyone, do we have an expectation for Marshawn to be suspended for his guilty plea in the California DUI case? It was called a ‘Wet Reckless” or something like that.

  9. Ray_Maines says:

Apparently the 49′ers are a little tired of Aldon Smith. This author thinks Smith won’t play for the 9′ers this year and they won’t pick up his option for 2015.

  10. Jesse Williams could never be the most interesting man in the world when he lives on Michael Bowie’s planet.

  11. I personally would be surprised if Lynch was suspended.
