The Seahawks announced they signed long snapper Jorgen Hus.

This story in the Regina (Sask.) Leader-Post says it’s  a three-year contract.

Hus signed last year with the St. Louis Rams, played two preseason games, and was cut.

Clint Gresham has been the Seahawks’ long snapper since 2010. Gresham is on the books for a $750,000 base salary this year after signing a two-year deal last August, which guaranteed him just $250,000.

At the very least, Hus is entertaining.

  1. Southendzone says:

Dang, Hawks are scrounging for cap if they are trying to save on Gresham’s contract.

  2. I was thinking the same thing

  3. HawkfaninMT says:

    It’s all about competition, right?

  4. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

hey all, could not sleep last night so i was cruising the mocks, funny thing one so called expert had the hawks taking a receiver. that in and of it self was not crazy what was was the fact he said the hawks had a large amount of drops. now i have heard others on here say same thing so i did some research. come to find out Hawks are third best in the league at not dropping the ball 3.2% average was right at 4.5 the worst was detroit at almost 8 %

  5. I don’t remember any errant snaps from my man, Clint, last year, but I guess competition is the name of the game around here….

  6. FleaFlicker says:

I guess now we just need a Canadian field goal kicker to round out the specialists?

  7. yankinta says:

Love it!! $500,000 is still money that could go towards undrafted FA…. Clint has to earn it. Not gonna just give it to you….. all about the Competition… :)

  8. NFL has released the offseason workout dates for the Seahawks

    First Day: April 21

OTA Offseason Workouts: May 27-29, June 2-3, June 5, June 9-12

    Mandatory Minicamp: June 17-19

  9. Maybe Gresham is being snubbed because he is the most boring twitter follow ever.

  10. They are just positioning their training camp roster for competition!

  11. CDHawkFan says:

OMG,, OMG,, OMG,, OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Yanker,, you made a mistake.

$500K is not what they would save by releasing Clint and picking up Hus.

The minimum for a NFL player is over $400k. The most they could save is $350k,, but everyone knows that, smh…

  12. Compete,Compete,Compete !

  13. Southendzone says:

That just means Yank is gonna be right the next 19 times, I believe his success rate is 95%.

  14. yankinta says:

CDHawkFan,, You misunderstood. I didn’t say that’s how much we’d save. I was saying Clint has to earn that $500,000. It will not be given to him without serious competition. :)

p.s, Hus signed for 3 year deal. I think Clint is gone for real!!

Southendzone, My success rate is improving,, it’s getting close to 96%. :)

  15. RDPoulsbo says:

That last trick shot, I don’t want to see a Seahawk longsnapper do that in a game. Ever.

  16. As I recall, the Hawks had another trick snapper in camp last year. He didn’t stick with the team.

So, while that’s all cool, there’s more a Center must do than snap a ball into a garbage can.
