Tweet link: Seahawks to cut Red Bryant?

The jovial big man was one of the likely cap casualties for the Seahawks. Cutting Red Bryant would save about $5.5 million in cap space. The Seahawks would also be cutting one of their biggest leaders, really the head of the defensive line group.

Sankey with a solid day

Bishop Sankey did nothing to hurt his draft status Sunday at the combine.

He ran a brisk 4.49 in the 40-yard dash, which was ahead of reputed speedsters De’Anthony Thomas (4.5) of Oregon, Lache Seastrunk (4.51) of Baylor and Tre Mason (4.5) of Auburn. Kent State back Dri Archer ran a blistering 4.26. Archer led FBS with three kick returns for touchdowns last year.

Sankey also did well in the bench press, putting up 26 reps, which was second-most. In addition, Sankey had solid vertical and broad jump numbers.

Seferian-Jenkins doesn’t run UPDATE

Former Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins didn’t run the 40-yard dash as scheduled Saturday. The NFL Network reported that Seferian-Jenkins chose not to run because of a foot injury.

When Seferian-Jenkins met with the media Wednesday, he said he hoped to run around a 4.6 40-yard dash Saturday.

He did 20 reps during the 225-pound bench press, which was toward the bottom of the tight end pack. For reference, the highest was 35.

UPDATE: Seferian-Jenkins said on the NFL Network he wasn’t medically cleared to run.
