Couple news items from Saturday:
According to a source, Austin Seferian-Jenkins had a stress fracture in his foot and is looking at a 6-8 week recovery period. Washington’s Pro Day is April 2. Seferian-Jenkins will benefit from the draft being pushed back to May now.
Second, USC tight end Xavier Grimble — whom Pete Carroll recruited while Grimble was in high school — met with the Seahawks, among others, Saturday. The 6-foot-5, 250-poung Grimble is one of the record number of underclassmen in the draft. Of his 69 career catches, 11 were touchdowns. Grimble was rated the No. 1 tight end in the country in 2010 when he committed to USC. After having what most deemed a disappointing or at least underachieving college career, Grimble told Fox Sports, “I feel like the underdog now.”
As for today, Bishop Sankey did well in the bench press. He had 26 reps, which put him near the top of the running backs stack. It’s also six more than Seferian-Jenkins, who outweighs Sankey by 53 pounds, had.
