Former Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins didn’t run the 40-yard dash as scheduled Saturday. The NFL Network reported that Seferian-Jenkins chose not to run because of a foot injury.
When Seferian-Jenkins met with the media Wednesday, he said he hoped to run around a 4.6 40-yard dash Saturday.
He did 20 reps during the 225-pound bench press, which was toward the bottom of the tight end pack. For reference, the highest was 35.
UPDATE: Seferian-Jenkins said on the NFL Network he wasn’t medically cleared to run.
Rob Rang of CBS sports says doctors discovered a pre-existing foot injury when they tested Seferian-Jenkins.
It’s unclear if Seferian-Jenkins will be prepared for Washington’s Pro Day on April 2.
