The Cleveland Browns’ selection of Mike Pettine as their head coach, closed the door on the candidacy of Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.

“I had a good visit with them, and a lot of respect certainly for their organization … and I also had a good visit with the guys at Minnesota,” he said. “… Both those guys hired some great coaches. It was a great experience to go through, and then even more importantly having the support of (executive VP and general manger John Schneider and coach Pete Carroll) to have a chance to be so supportive of that, I don’t think I could be more fortunate to have better bosses than those two. To have that kind of support from those guys – to have them in your corner – I couldn’t be more fired up.”

Excellent. Quinn has been huge to the consistent improvement overall from Gus Bradley in my very humble opinion.

  2. Good news for us, AND for DQ!

I would hate to read the headline, “Dan Quinn sadly accepts head coach job with Browns”

Good. It’s nice to have the same D.Coordinator for two season in a row.

Any early guesses as to which jobs will be available next year? Atlanta, Buffalo, Dallas, and Oakland maybe.

  5. Maybe SF.

This is great news for Quinn and the Seahawks.
