The Seahawks are set to play in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Seahawks games should come with some sort of medical warning. That was not a game to watch for those with heart conditions or ulcers.

With that in mind, get it all off your chest. Let it out. Give us your reaction.

1. Give out two game balls today, one for offense and one for defense. Who do they go to?

2. Where does this rank in all time Seahawks games for you?

3. Does Russell Wilson’s play worry you?

4. What is your moment of the game?

5. What is your super early Super Bowl prediction?

  1. 1. Offense: ML
    Defense: M.Bennett

    2. Close to same as the NFC Championship vs CAR

    3. Only if I was a Broncos fan

    4. When PA hoisted the trophy!

    5. 27 SEA, 26 DEN

  2. Rufusporter97 says:

Great win!! Wilson and offense needs to open it up against Manning. Harvin back for the SB could be huge!

  3. MikeFromNewJersey says:

Woooooo!!!!!!!!!!! My team is coming home to see me!! Everybody has an open invite if you need a place to stay!

  4. Sherman sherman sherman oh yes

  5. I was highly critical of Wilson…but damn they did it…I love Sherman’s comments…and Baldwin’s…yeah alright we f-ing did it. We are THERE.

  6. GeorgiaHawk says:

    My reaction is- Go Hawks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. GeorgiaHawk says:

    My reaction is- Go Hawks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. GeorgiaHawk says:

    My reaction is go Hawks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Hawkenstein says:

Hell yes! We’re coming for you Broncos! Go Hawks!

  10. Hell yes, Wilson was awesome in the second half. The entire offense was, facing the best D they will ever face. Damn, the Broncos won’t be this hard!

  11. GeorgiaHawk says:

LOL, didn’t expect that to happen.

  12. Kaepernick threw them the ball and they caught it!

  13. Wilson is like Elway when he was first starting. No other human I would want leading my team. Should be a fun two weeks

  14. Haters definitely hating, while we’re all celebrating!

  15. Dukeshire says:

Sweet Jesus… I just *knew* Seattle was losing by 1 as SF was marching inside 2 minutes. That’s Seattle’s history. Unreal. I am exhausted and beyond elated. This team is winning the Super Bowl. I believe either SF or Seattle would beat Denver. Just an incredible day by the Defense, Lynch, and when it mattered most, Wilson. He will simply not allow anyone to give up regardless of the situation.

This defense is so special. Just humbled and proud to be a Seahawk fan, tonight. Go ‘Hawks!

  16. Hawkenstein says:

Let them hate..A win is win. we going to ny!

  17. 1. Give out two game balls today, one for offense and one for defense. Who do they go to?

This is a great team, and this was a team win. I’m going to give out game balls to multiple players, because it took all 53.
Game balls on offense go to Doug Baldwin for being clutch.
Marshawn Lynch for being Money Lynch.
Russell Wilson for getting it done.

    2. Where does this rank in all time Seahawks games for you?

I’m not sure, but it’s way the hell up there in terms of cathartic value and satisfaction.

    3. Does Russell Wilson’s play worry you?

Somewhat, but he’s what we’ve got and what we will win or lose with.
If our D plays up to their potential, he won’t lose the game for you as shown by today’s game. For the opposite example: see Kaepernick, Colin

    4. What is your moment of the game?
There were several delicious moments for me.

Beast Mode 40 yd td run was the appetizer.
Jermaine Kearse 35 yd TD catch was the main course.
Avril strip sack and Bennett recovery was sweet.
Sherman tip and Malcolm Smith pick the cherry on top.

    5. What is your super early Super Bowl prediction?

LOB and Seahawks D show up and play as advertised:

Seahawks come out victorious on a Russell Wilson keeper 21-17.

DangeRuss wins Super Bowl MVP with 1 td passing, 1 td rushing.

  18. 1. Give out two game balls today, one for offense and one for defense. Who do they go to?
    Baldwin
    Sherman

    Goat: Offensive Line

    2. Where does this rank in all time Seahawks games for you?
Loved the outcome, not so thrilled with the game

    3. Does Russell Wilson’s play worry you?
yes; though I’m still uncertain how much of the blame goes to:
    A. RW
    B. DB (Bevell)
    C. OL
    D. WR
    4. What is your moment of the game?
    Last instant interception

    5. What is your super early Super Bowl prediction?
Percy Harvin practices & plays: Hawks
    No Harvin: Broncos
Harvin plays with little practice: ?

This may sound extreme, but i strongly suggest we use out first 5 draft picks on 4 offensive lineman & 1 wr.

Oh………. & EXTEND RICHARD SHERMAN. NOW.

  19. seahawkfan97 says:

    1. Give out two game balls today, one for offense and one for defense. Who do they go to? offense definitely doug Baldwin defense I think Michael Bennett big time plays…

    2. Where does this rank in all time Seahawks games for you? As far as what it means right up there near the top…I think watching the offense of the hasselbeck era was more exciting or I should say less stressful. I wasn’t as worried every game like this year..
    3. Does Russell Wilson’s play worry you? Yes somewhat but he is clutch and I think carroll and bevel are holding him back some..He was high on some passes today and I don’t have the confidence needed in the offense to avoid a heart attack like the defense.. We need last years magic the last what 11 games to beat Denver in my opinion

    4. What is your moment of the game? When Sherm deflected that pass to Smith… I just knew they (LOB) were gonna come through!!! It was quite the set up for that finish and very fitting!!!

    5. What is … what did craptree say about Sherman any of you know? what is we gonna do to keep up with the points manning runs up? One more..What is the deal with the team not hitting anyone? Keeping down the penalties? Fines? what?? you know Kam kind of hits…
Go hawks what a great day…

    1. Yeahhhhhh!
    2. HELL YEAAAAAAHHH!
    3. SUPERBOWL BABY!
    4. GO HAWKS!!!
    5. EEEEYYYEEEAAAAAHHHH!

  21. can’t quite believe it all worked out. . .. this team does make us sweat – but, it’s a fantastic defense, probably the best I can remember us having as a Hawks fan. And turnovers are part of what they do – 3 in the 2nd half saved this game for us.

our offense isn’t rolling on all cylinders, but we’re winning and that’s all that matters. seemed to me, that for the first time, RW was a little nervous in the moment, but the guy still has a knack for a big play at the right time. the throw to Kearse was perfect.

with a defense like this that can rush the passer and defend receivers the way we can — who’s to say we can’t win the SB?

for me, I’m going to soak in the fact that we’re going there for the next two weeks. . .what a great year it’s been.

  22. RDPoulsbo says:

Just got home. Poulsbo is partying in the streets!

  23. Oops, I forgot to mention my defensive game balls:

Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett for being the 2 best defensive free agent signings in the NFL.
And Richard Sherman for playing like the man.

They should have played Aloe Blacc’s “I’m the Man” as Kaepernick left the stadium. Difference between our QB and their QB, ours doesn’t make mistakes that kill our team. You’ll need your Beats by Dre headphones to tune out the negative press now Colin Bieber.

  24. seahawkfan97 says:

What is your early SB prediction..website was having trouble when I copied and pasted….3 ints 2 by sherm as payton will throw his way and we win a close one

  25. Denver is a 2 point favorite for the Super Bowl.

  26. Much respect to Georgia. Nice call when it came to Baldwin. I thought about him, but I chose others to be big. They certainly don’t win this game without Baldwin. ENJOY THIS, my Hawks fans!

  27. It seemed that the ball was bouncing the Whiners way when it came to fumbles. Glad it didn’t matter. I believe they beat Denver. Some bad weather would be helpful. I think that Percy makes a couple of big plays.

  28. jawpeace says:

    1. Give out two game balls today, one for offense and one for defense. Who do they go to?
Baldwin and Maxwell The Niners really targeted and picked on Max and did not have much success.

    2. Where does this rank in all time Seahawks games for you?
Probably the greatest. I still love the game where Kraig escapes Thomas 8th sack for a TD to Paul Skanzie at the last second for a very rare win in arrow head.

    3. Does Russell Wilson’s play worry you?
He did not have his best game. But this is a team game. Wilson play won’t affect the Defensive side of the ball.

    4. What is your moment of the game? Last Play for the win!

    5. What is your super early Super Bowl prediction?
    Hawks win!

  29. Liking this interview with Baldwin, the “walk to the Super Bowl” comment was gold.

  30. 2. Where does this rank in all time Seahawks games for you?
Probably the greatest. I still love the game where Kraig escapes Thomas 8th sack for a TD to Paul Skanzie at the last second for a very rare win in arrow head.

That’s my first Hawks memory EVER! Before I was really a true fan. great moment.

  31. thursday says:

only 29 comments? did everyone have heart attacks during the game? lol.

  32. RDPoulsbo–I lived in Poulsbo in 2004/2005. Barely anyone cared we went to the SB. Glad to hear they are on board now though! I miss The Tree House!

  33. 1. Lynch, Sherman
    2. Best game in Seahawks history for me because we struggled to take the lead and beat the 49ers to reach the SB. Carolina has never been a rival.
    3. We are going to the SB because of RW, and there is no other QB I’d rather have lead us to our first Championship.
    4. Moment of the game: Sherman’s tip…runner up: Kam’s pick.
    5. Early SB prediction…Manning 3 interceptions, four sacks, under 300 yards passing…Seahawks 31, Broncos 24

Biggest surprise of the game…Harbaugh’s post-game interview…he actually gave props to the Seahawks.

  34. Singularitarian says:

I screamed myself half to death. I am drunk and tired. Definitely the best game I’ve ever been to

  35. DisplacedSeahawkFan says:

I’m far from a rich man by every measure. Still, I’ll be the first to donate $200 to a supplemental fund to inspire Sherman and Thomas to give home town discounts to keep the L.O.B. intact.

We need to start a petition to Sherman and Thomas, now, inspiring them to stay in Seattle for the better part of their careers. Sign one, and franchise the other, if need be. But the L.O.B. is crucial to any dynasty hopes the Seahawks franchise has.

  36. 1. Baldwin/Lynch and Sherman/Chancellor

    2. Second greatest win for me. The ’83 play-off win at the Dolphins is still my number one, but this is close! I know this one got us to the Super Bowl but the other win was special because of the innocence of my youth. I loved that game.

    3. To a degree but there aren’t many I’d rather have so it can’t be too worrisome.

    4. The Kearse TD.

    5. Hawks will win.

  37. well – the Hawk haters are out in full force on pft.com . . .I guess it’s better to be good than to be liked, but it’s still kind of annoying.

  38. I almost died.

Game ball to Marshawn Lynch, as per usual. I vote we put a pic of his 40 trader as the banner; Wilson doesn’t deserve it. Lunch has deserved a game ball every single game. Seriously.

Others deserving on offense; Baldwin. Honorable mention to Kearse and Tate. I said before the game Kearse was better than Rice, and that I believed in him. He proved me right.

Sorry RW; you played the fourth quarter like you had a concussion. You missed too many throws. Good job, but not Game Ball worthy. Get Right!

Defense; Chancellor, Avril, Bennett. ET had another off day, as did Clem. Sherman for not getting complacent. Yeehaw!

Big as Carolina well almost. Huge game.

Yes, Wilson worries me greatly. He looks like a scrambling game manager. Mostly I think his qb coach is to blame, and Carrol; Look what Bevell did with the leash off! And for the love of God, let’s stop blaming Bevell for Carrol Hijacking the offense! Carl the qb coach and Carrol are ruining RW!

Ccvi said it! All the big plays!

Plus the bad handoff at the goal line, and the three other plays where RW acted as if he forgot the play–I swear, either he was concussed or panicking!

No prediction except a great game with very little cheating refs–Fox won’t accept it, and you can’t hose us twice!

  39. I hate this sites autocorrect…stupidest thing ever…

  40. MoSeahawk12 says:

Superbowl birth and the blog is pretty quiet. Way more action before game. Glad they held up and pulled it out. It would have been nice to recover a few of those loose balls, but damn, the second half D was pretty awesome. Be happy all. It’s rare!!

  41. Interesting, the 2 team’s stats are almost identical with 2 exceptions:

    Kaepernick’s 130 rushing yards vs Wilson’s 0

    Wilson’s 104.6 QB Rating vs Kaepernick’s 56.4

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers-seattle-seahawks-20140119026/

  42. That was Awesome! I love ALL of you guys!!!

  43. just an awesome job again by the best defensive backfield in football. Crab and Boldin combined for 9 catches and 96 yards, Vernon did absolutely nothing. Denver will be tougher, but this defense is special.

  44. If somehow SEA and SF melded into one team, that would be an AWESOME team!!! These are the 2 best teams in the NFL.

  45. MoSeahawk12 says:

Time to sign off. Not going to let noise ruin the mood. Good job all.

  46. Mo–I agree. I told my wife in the third that every chance occurrence was going the Niners way; and that went against the laws of probability; so sooner or later Seattle had to catch a break. Then we got the strip sack and the Kam pick and the bad call and finally Sherm saved us with an assist by Smith..,

Dude, I love you even if you hate me!

  47. MoSeahawk12 says:

I don’t hate anyone man. It’s a damn football blog on the internet. Just different strokes for different folks. Real life is much more stressful than three hours of football. This is a reflection of why we care. Find time to enjoy. It’s a rare thing. Always find a reason to believe. You would never want the team to give up when the going gets tough. Fans have it easy.

  48. re-watch that Wilson throw to Baldwin and complain about him – — – scrambles around buying himself 8 seconds and then throws the ball 57 yards in the air.

we hold all our guys under a microscope sometimes. how many other qb’s make that play?

  49. GeorgiaHawk says:

pdway- None. That is why Wilson will lead us to our first Super Bowl victory.

  50. bulldog80 says:

Wow! This game dam near killed me

    1. Baldwin and Sherman
    2. At the top
    3. Doesn’t worry me at all. He just needs to trust his receivers and his first read a little more.
    4. Lynch’s TD run
    5. Seahawks 27 Broncos 20

What a fantastic team! This is the team I always hoped we’d have. Thank you Mr. Allen, Mr. Carrol, and Mr. Snyder.

  51. Wow oh wow like f-in man yeah. Who ah, how in the Hell? We crushed their ass in the second half. Wilson was terrible…then he was great. Denver and NE were soft, this was real football.

  52. Mo–Yes, life is way more stressful than watching a game. Sometimes the helplessness of being a fan mirrors life. This game almost killed me!

And I am enjoying every damned minute if this! Bet your Butt!

Pdway–Yes, but had he put a little more on that throw its a TD. He also missed a bunch of throws he should have made. He looks more like Krieg than Tarkenton at this point—but remember I’m one of Kriegs biggest fans!

If Carl and Cable let RW loose, he will destroy defenses! I’m not saying throw 40 times a game, but stop making him second guess and aim too much!

Wilson is a great leader and I love him. He is the man. But he can improve. And he will.

  53. How bout Sherman’s angry interview?!

  54. STTBM – I thought of you when Kearse made that TD reception.

    :)

  55. Suuuuper Boooowl!!!!!!

  56. Crow tastes great, don’t it Bobbyk lol! Wish you’d been at my house for the game, I went apespit!

  57. Serious question: did somebody dose RW? Dude was lost all game.

What a crazy game, still not sure how we won. Three clutch turnovers to at the end were $, and Marshawn was a beast. Again.

    Wow.

  58. You guys know why we won?!

Because I ate Quinoa for the team!

I am not making this up!

    Quinoa!

    How hardcore is thaaat?!

  59. also worth noting – youngest starting line-up of any of the playoff teams. And Russell is just a 2nd year QB. He’ll add some polish as the years go by.

  60. STTBM – I’m not eating crow. I still think Rice is better (or was from when we were comparing them to/from). I’m just happy your boy Kearse made the play.

  61. “Pdway–Yes, but had he put a little more on that throw its a TD. He also missed a bunch of throws he should have made. He looks more like Krieg than Tarkenton at this point—but remember I’m one of Kriegs biggest fans! ”

but that’s what I’m saying – – even when he makes an all-world play, you’ve got nits to pick. nobody’s perfect. right now, with the D we’ve got, he may just be good enough to win us a SB, can’t ask for too much more. there may come a day when this team needs him to throw for 300+ yds a game, but this team doesn’t.

  62. hawkfan777 says:

Awesome game! Wish guys like STTBM would back off of Wilson. He is playing lights out within the offense he is playing in. Maybe he wants the Hawks to trade for crappernick?

  63. I ain’t gonna lie – I was happy when Lynch fumbled and SF recovered. I know some of you might think I’m nuts, but that previous call reminded me of a call that would have gone against us in SB XL. It was total BS against SF. This way we can now say we won the game fair and square and not have to listen how we are only in the Super Bowl because of a bad call (and it was a bad call that went against SF).

  64. MoSeahawk12 says:

Wilson played the game that Carroll wants. He said as much. Wilson outperformed Kap. After the first play fumble, Wilson had a good, not great game, but didn’t make killer mistakes. Kap made killer mistakes. This team is now in the Superbowl with a second year QB. How many teams can ever say that? Let’s hold off on the hyper critical review and actually look at what just happened. Earl missed the one in the end zone, but that pass had serious juice on it. How many yards and TDs did Vernon Davis have? Guess who was around him all day. He made one of the very best tight ends a supporting background member. There are thirty teams that wish they had our problems tonight. We’ll have two weeks to take a fine tooth comb and figure out what these guys need to do to win it all. Right now, it’s on to our second Superbowl EVER!! Enjoy.

  65. Yeah Bobby we won totally fair…no help. And the finish with Sherman denying Crabtree was perfect!

  66. Generational transfer…Manning turns it over to the Seahawks…we will move the ball, comparatively easily, against them.

  67. DanielleMND says:

I can’t even count all the heart attacks I nearly had, especially on that final drive by the 49ers. I was emotionally up and down all game. But as I said this morning, we can do this, and we did. Bring on the Broncos! Go Seahawks!

  68. You mean, Seattle will have no players in the ProBowl?

  69. MoSeahawk12 says:

Zero point zero players in the Pro Bowl.

  70. Aside from Kaps big run, they did nothing stellar on offense.

I hope Bowman is going to be alright. Hate to see someone like him go down.

Sherman is my favorite player in nfl history.

Wilson does just enough to win, and he has done it 15 times so far this season. He’s not lighting up the stat sheets. He’s not 6’4. He is the best competitor the nfl has seen in quite some t

  71. SEA HAS to win this SB!!! How many times have NFCW teams gone to the SB and came away empty? TOO MANY!!!

  72. Ime. Very good showing. Hopefully we get to see more of percy this February.

  73. I laugh when Seahawks fans expect their QB to make every play against one of the best defenses of this century, the 49ers. Obviously this year’s Seahawks have a chance to be the best of this century.

It’s borderline ridiculous but that’s been the way of this board the past 3 years, dating back to Tarvaris Jackson.

The Seahawks have a bunch of number 2 WRs. I thought the OL played well. They can’t help the QB holds the ball forever. I blame it on stiffs like Golden Tate.

  74. banosser says:

The defenses that Denver has faced this season:
    Total defense
    Balt: 12th
    NYG: 11th
    Oak: 22nd
    Phil: 29th
    Dal: 32nd
    Jax: 27th
    Indy: 20th
    Wash: 18th
    SD: 23rd
    KC: 24th
    NE: 26th
    Tenn: 14th
    Hou: 7th

    Denver’s defense ranked 19th

    Wait’ll they get a load of us !! :)

  75. GeorgiaHawk says:

I don’t do the live chats anymore because Todd can’t figure out a
way to keep trolls from steeling usernames, however as I scroll back I see this comment by getaclueon. I mean RADEoN-
    -Comment From RADEoN
Todd, that’s why I laugh when Georgia puts so much merit on it, heh.

“That was in reference to Todd’s remark about Wilsons 105 passer rating.”

Lol. How do you all feel about Wilsons rating now?

  76. Glossman says:

Unbelievable…I admit it, I was gripping the whole week. I had somehow convinced myself they would lose this game. And then they got down 10-0, I thought the end was nigh. Little did I know that the Krapperneck we ‘hawks fans know so well finally reared his head in the second half, and now we’re onto the big one!

I almost feel like a bad fan because I doubted the passing game could score enough points, but they did just that.

The Super Bowl presents a whole new set of challenges, but thankfully, a top-5 defense isn’t one of them!

  77. RDPoulsbo says:

Wow, my friends back east are not at all pleased with Seattle’s win. We really are the villains of the NFL. I like that. I also like that we as fans embrace that. I don’t must mean “we” in the general sense, but we as fans are included with the team here. I think it really began after the reaction of the rest of the country’s view of the Packers game ending last year. This year though, it really galvanized the fanbase.

We all we got, we all we need!

It was a rallying cry last postseason, but it’s just as fitting this year.

  78. fryingpan says:

#3: You’re kidding, right? Because Super Bowl.

  79. DanielleMND says:

Crabtree is on Twitter calling Sherm a fake. 40whiners, indeed.

  80. Pabs–You’re nuts calling Tate a stuff. He got open like crazy, but the line was busy whiffing and getting RW killed. He had a very good game.

The struggles on offense the past six games are mostly on Carrol and Bevell. Some is on the line, some less on the WR’s, some on RW.

Notice how we moved the ball when they let the offense loose?!

Let RW do his thing! He can do it!

  81. Dont get me wrong, I am ecstatic we won, and RW got us here. But he was pretty bad today in a lot of spots. Mostly presnap, there was zero recognition of where the pressure was coming from, and no adjustments, unlike the first Saints game where he made all the right moves. Way too many times running 15-20 yards behind the line, the grounding penalties. There was a throw in the first quarter that was really lucky didnt get picked, the fumble to open the game. The botched handoffs, dropped snaps. Even the play to Baldwin in the first half was pretty lucky (it worked) running around back there that long, against those guys is not smart. Then there were times he just wouldnt make the throw, which has been a problem for weeks now. Carroll has got him so afraid of turning the ball over that he is very gunshy right now. Being a little too careful.

The only really smart play, the ones that we were used to seeing most of the year, was the pass to Kearse after the hard count.

I love RW, and am thankful he is our QB, but I feel we got lucky today. Defense did their part, but Kaepernick kind of fell apart there at the end. Manning will not do that. He wont have 3 turnovers in the 4th quarter.

The defense, Baldwin, and Lynch were awesome today. Incredible game.

  82. “I ain’t gonna lie – I was happy when Lynch fumbled and SF recovered. I know some of you might think I’m nuts, but that previous call reminded me of a call that would have gone against us in SB XL. It was total BS against SF. This way we can now say we won the game fair and square and not have to listen how we are only in the Super Bowl because of a bad call (and it was a bad call that went against SF).”

I most likely would’ve given you shit had we lost, BobbyK. I am glad as well though. The Whiners can cry their eyes out. I sincerely hope that all the fans here can have a good night. Percy is back in 2 weeks. Manning is a choke artist. The Beast is our idol/

  83. fryingpan says:

Denver is a much better match up for us than the 49’ers were.

  84. I just realized…I won $610 on this game!

  85. RDPoulsbo says:

The way the fumble was, and I would say it was one that was lost, was fine by me. As far as I’m concerned, the league owes the Seahawks a Lombardi and until Paul Allen is holding one, do not apologize for a single favorable call. Not one.

  86. MoSeahawk12 says:

Go back and watch the throw to Baldwin on the 9+ second scramble by Wilson. Then watch the TD throw to Kearse on 4th and 8. Those two throws were amazing and there are not many QBs that could make the first one and then thread the needle on the second one. Those were huge plays that Wilson made. Without those we lose this game. He’s not asked to or is he going to throw for 300+ yards a game. He completed 60+% of his passes, even though the line acted like they had never seen a blitz before. ZERO INTs. Winner, leader. Luck was not a factor as we certainly didn’t get any of the loose ball breaks tonight.

  87. DanielleMND says:

Sherm’s response to Crabtree on Twitter: “A lion doesn’t concern himself with the opinions of a sheep.”

  88. Thank you NWGG. Doesn’t mean we don’t love RW to point out his continued struggles.

I’m really concerned he may have been suffering from concussion symptoms. He doesn’t rattle, but he was a mess there for awhile….

Two weeks will do us good, and Denver isnt used to playing Defenses in the top 10—Wait’ll they get a load of us!!!

  89. sluggo42 says:

    Not much to add

    Beast and baldy
    Entire d

It looked bad, RW had a very rough start, but I knew we would win. I didn’t know how, just that we would.

Manning hasn’t seen a defense like this. And if it’s cold too?

Lots of near fights at my bar in SoCal, ESP,at the end, niner fans mad. Haha

Tate almost pulled the stupid play of the game running backward on the 1st down catch, I swear he loses his reality

  90. montanamike2 says:

Hi guys incredible win! Had me on edge right up to the end, who can beat this D? I hated that we spotted them a fumble on the very first play but felt a lot better after the goal line stand and only spotted them 3. At half time another fan asked me if i was worried and i replied”no”. We have Harvin next game and he takes a lot of attention, wow. I was stoked that Denver won the first game because New England would be basically playing a home game and this levels the playing field. I truly believe in my heart that we are a much better team than Denver and may indeed cause Payton Manning to play his last game. Young QB is greater than old QB.

  91. I have said it before, but I think the Broncos are a bad team if you take away Manning and two of those three WRs. With that being said, they do have Manning and Thomas, Decker, and Welker so they are definitely going to be a formidable opponent. Although our defense is great, they certainly aren’t going to pitch a shutout.

The Broncos don’t have much of a defense though. We should be able to run the Beast and keep the defense rested when they attack Manning. Getting Percy “back” for the Super Bowl will be awesome, too. I think we’re going to score a lot (weather permitting) against those Broncos.

  92. I am as critical of RW as anyone…but that throw on 4th down to Kearse was an all-time classic Hall of Fame throw. Manning doesn’t have anything better than that in his entire career.

  93. tealskin says:

Only have one complaint and that’s with Sherman after the game. Was so high and then all my joy evaporated. Love the guy but just wish he’d grow up a little bit and show more class. I know he was pumped up but that was ridiculous.

  94. Mo–I never said Wilson needs to throw for 300 yards. But he missed far more key passes than he made, and seemed out of it on several plays. I think he was concussed.

Yes, I agree that scramble and throw to Doug was great–the throw was off–but the throw to Keatse was perhaps his best of the year, next to tha back end zone throw to Tate earlier in the year…Amazing!

I love RW all the more for his imperfections, I can’t understand the furor and excuse making; the mans not Jesus.

RW has things to work on, he’s mortal; accept it. But he’s a great leader and competitor, and perhaps the nicest guy on the team. Plus, he’s a workaholic.

We’re gonna win the Super Bowl!

  95. MikeFromNewJersey says:

Im so freaking happy I cannot sleep!!! 12:30am and I wake up at 6 for work..True story here, When Malcolm Smith picked off Kaperdick I jumped up so fast that I pulled my calf muscle and now im limping!!:)))) going to be a tough few days buf it was well worth it.

  96. montanamike2 says:

    Amen Vegas56.

  97. MoSeahawk12 says:

Good night all. Have a great week. Then a boring weekend, and then another great week and then a thrilling weekend watching our guys bring home the Lombardi trophy!

  98. Teal skin–u don’t know what Craptree was saying to him. They shoulda known what they’d get from him…

  99. RDPoulsbo says:

I think Seattle is a great matchup against Denver. Manning is smart. If his WR isn’t there on time, he won’t throw the ball. The trouble is, those WRs won’t be there on time if they’re jammed at the line of scrimmage. He throws the ball quickly so the pass rush doesn’t get to him, which bodes well for a defense that likes to play press coverage.

  100. MoSeahawk12 says:

just heard we’re a 2 point favorite over the Broncos right now. That will change I’m sure.

  101. montanamike2 says:

That Sherman play against the Crab was as good as it gets.

  102. Have a great night Mo!

    Go Seahawks!!!

  103. GoldenGate_Nate says:

Congratulations, Seahawks and Seahawk fans. A well played game. I sincerely hope you represent the NFC West well and beat the Broncos in the Super Bowl.

I thought we had this one in the first half, the way Kaep was able to run. Great adjustments by your defense. I look forward to many more hard-fought games in the future.

  104. sluggo42 says:

    Crabtree, mediocre at best!

  105. tealskin says:

STTBM- Was referring to the time when the microphone was put in front of his face after the game. I can do without all of the “I am the greatest”, even if it’s true.

  106. sluggo42 says:

    See ya next year gnat

  107. Ewalters7354 says:

Game ball goes to the team as a whole for battling all game.Things weren’t looking good in the first half at all,but these guys kept fighting and made more plays at the end.The Niners are a great team and that was the hardest challenge the Hawks could’ve faced all season. Now Percy will have 2wks to get healthier and I believe he’ll come through in a big way.If not,oh well.

    Go Hawks!NFC Champs baby!!

  108. GGNate you are a true gentleman. And your team would have won the Super Bowl had they survived this game. It was one those bang-bang things at the end…kind of we knew it would end between the two best teams in the game. I thought you had us in the first half as well.

  109. montanamike2 says:

Hey GoldenGate_Nate thanks and i look forward to a decade of the best of teams that fight each other 2-3 times a year. Cheers and good sportsmanship.

  110. DanielleMND says:

Jesus. People on Twitter calling Sherman the N-word now.

  111. Maybe Percy is fTed to catch the game winner?

  112. DanielleMND says:

GoldenGate_Nate, it was appropriate that the NFC came down to the two best teams in the NFC.

  113. DanielleMND says:

Vegas56, or score on a 108-yard kick return!

  114. MoSeahawk12 says:

I don’t see anyone making excuses or calling him Jesus. I think many just realize that winning a NFC championship and getting to the Superbowl is a rare and exceptional team thing. He is part of the team that just did that two hours ago. He is not perfect, but nobody is. There has been exactly two of these in our lifetimes. Ask Dan Marino what that means. His next win puts him on top of the all time list. He earned the right to be there and will work on his game over the next two weeks. I’m personally going to bail from this discussion and let others debate it. My team just won it’s way to the Superbowl.
From the man with his name on the trophy.
“Perfection is not attainable. But if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.”
“If you’re lucky enough to find a guy with a lot of head and a lot of heart, he’s never going to come off the field second.”
“Winning is not a sometime thing…it’s an all the time thing. You don’t win once in a while…you don’t do the right thing once in a while…you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit.”
“Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing.”

  115. montanamike2 says:

    I loved Kams hits.

  116. Havn’t read any comments yet…all i want to say is..We are going to the Super Bowl Baby!!! SEA-Hawks!

  117. Danielle…I’ll take that!

  118. just got home. Haven’t read the comments. Best game I’ve ever attended, no doubt. Both teams played great ball.

  119. GoldenGateNate–You truly are a gentleman. Your first few posts here were kinda arrogant, but you turned around fast. If you’re ever in Montana, let us know; I will track u down–I travel a lot–and buy you beer!

Tough loss for you guys, but the war will go on!

  120. Mo you are right. I hope RW enjoys this year AND makes the most of it. I don’t think he will be a Marino, he’ll play in multiple SB’s!

  121. This was the greatest victory in Seahawk history. In two weeks, it will be surpassed. Game balls: Sherman and Lynch. They are the heart and soul of this team.

  122. UltimateHawk says:

AWESOME! Now we can get back to talking about Percy Harvin…

  123. Dukeshire says:

GoldenGate_Nate – I give you straight up props. Thank you for your kind words and you’re a class act. Cheers.

  124. BeerDrinkingFool says:

Love this team and very happy we’re going to the Super Bowl.
Did anyone else catch Deion Sanders calling out Kaepernick for showing up the the postgame press conference in sweats and a backwards hat? The dude doesn’t get it. As his running game and defense starts to get worse around him, he won’t be able to carry the load.

I just have to give mad props to the D for hanging in there, especially Kam and Sherman, and hope we can contain Peyton in two weeks.

  125. GGN – Appreciate the props. The game was a 15-round fight as Harbaugh said in the post-game.

Here’s hoping Bowman comes back, really hate to see a player go down like that.

  126. Classy statements from goldengatenate. Great game man, and prayers are with bowman, that was nasty. Hope we can rep the NFC and bring home our first lombardi. How sweet it could be!

  127. Props to the 49ers for a helluva game. What a ride! I am so stoked right now and so proud for everyone involved with this organization.

I’ll give you this UltimateHawk, Percy Harvin was brought in for 1 purpose only, to win THIS Superbowl. How hilarious that he will do just that while taking a break for almost the entire season. Our special teams might be the difference in the Meadowlands. Seahawks 27-24.

  128. Seattle fans should get something going to let Bowman know we’re all pulling for him to return 100%!!

    Anyone have any ideas?

  129. banosser says:

bbmate: “I ain’t gonna lie – I was happy when Lynch fumbled and SF recovered.

I agree 100%… I too was happy that play ended up being moot.. and actually benefited the 9ers

  130. How about a SEA fan billboard in SF?

  131. While Russell did not look all pro in this game, don’t forget that he was playing against a very good defense. Kap also had a tough game, and that was mostly because of the Legion.

In two weeks we will see again that even top QB’s can have a bad game against a top defense.

    Go Hawks!

  132. Yes, I agree that scramble and throw to Doug was great–the throw was off –

NO WAY!! Makes that throw across his body 50 yards – that is MONEY – made a few mistakes but that wasn’t one of them!

    thoughts –

    1. Sherm was fine until he went with the choke hold – STUPID move IMO
    2. Did anyone see Fans throwing things at Bowman and Iupati as they left the field? If so that is pretty tacky on our fans.

Loved how Sherm was able to get a tip even after Crabtree pushes off – that wasn’t going to be called!!

  133. Lets hope they play against Manning better than we did in the pre-season where he tore us up! But teams are different now!

  134. bird_spit says:

I know you guys never remember my writing as it is rare, but I’d like to publicly acknowledge #rocket #83 for turning around his chances for staying in the league with his ST play this year. Again today he made a statement hit on the punt returner.

I’d also like to publicly ask where was Bruce I this game and most of the year. He is being outplayed most of the time. I think he gets the anti-game ball.

My game ball goes to the OL for opening some gaps for Marshawn. What a game. I’m not sure the best team one today, but I’ll take the win.

I have no doubt that Manning has no idea what is coming.. L.O.B.

  135. The 49ers coach/player on the sideline who leveled jeremy lane better be suspended and fined. That shit was terrible. Showing how classless that franchise is. Ridiculous

  136. Just watched the broadcast.. tip of the hat to SF. They played a hell of a game. I agree about some gesture for Bowman, and Impati too. As much and Keap and Jim irritate me they are a great team and have way for class than the other ‘elite’ teams we faced.

  137. CDHawkFan says:

    Slave,

You are going to continually dump on RW, but you want to do something nice for Bowman?

What is your deal? Bowman is a millionaire and SF has a huge fan base, he is taken care of.

And Tate really didn’t show up, its a good think Baldwin stepped up or Tates lack of involvement would have made him the Goat. Tate is getting cheaper by the week.

Margos, Argo F yourself. Might be the dumpest play of the year.

  138. Cant we be happy?

  139. Cdhawkfan–You are nuts. Some people can’t analyze anything–they want to whitewash everything since we won. To them, RW is the best an of all time because we won, and every throw was perfect.

Others analyze every play instantly. It is what it is.

I think it’s amazing that we win despite the myriad mistakes and RW missing key throws and struggling to even remember the play. He fought through, and I love him for it.

I am still elated, and would hope you are too. Don’t start with the insults or branding me negative simply because I can see clearly and objectively that RW and our offense are still out of sync and have a ways to go.

Go read yesterday’s article by Cosell, he says what I’ve been saying and has gifs to prove it.

Just be happy we won; I sure am.

And if you can’t stand any analysis of the qb, skip my comments.

  140. Tate made key plays and was open deep quite a bit. rW was getting too much pressure and or just missed him. Saying Tate didnt play well is wrong, negative, and silly. He had 4 catches to extend drives despite often being the decoy, and not getting the ball despite being open.

Give the guy a break, and watch the All-22 coaching tape if u don’t believe me.

  141. CDHawkFan says:

If I am nutts for questioning your support for a 49er while you nag on about our QB, then what are you for getting in a couple of fights a day on here? Seriously, you bitch twice as much as anyone and you are always going at it with someone, today it’s me. If it was now and then then it wouldn’t stick out, but you are over the top. And before you say we are snowed, I agree with RW not playing as well over the last 6 or so games, I just don’t need to hear about it our are OL 4 times a day. And yes, I have already stared skimming over your posts months ago. It’s not that we disagree, we just don’t need to hear about the nagging all the time, I am married.

Without Harvin, when the team really needs him, Tate was less productive than 2 UDFA.

  142. Cd–Now who’s negative? And I wasn’t aware we were fighting. If we are, it’s one-sided.

So you don’t necessarily disagree with me, you just come on a blog and expect everyone to refrain from posting anything you don’t want to hear? Really?

I am sorry if my analysis offends you. If RW and the line keep struggling, I’m going to comment on it, in detail. I also gave him props for his battling, his perfect throw on fourth down to Kearse, etc. I feel I was being even-handed, but many want to ignore any mistakes.

Which is fine. Different strokes. Just don’t tell me I’m bagging on RW because that’s not true.

And yes, I think it’s appropriate to show Iupati and Bowman they ate respected and that most Seahawks fans arent happy with the fools who threw food at Bowman. That has nothing to do with pointing out RW is still struggling.

I’m loving this win, and I hope you are too. Relax, I’m not interested in getting heated with you or anyone else; we are going to the SB!!

  143. And Tate was often the decoy who allowed Kearse and Baldy to get single coverage. That was often his job.

Also, he got open and RW didn’t get the ball to him. Bare stats don’t tell the story. Tate played very well.

  144. swsrresident says:

Embarrassing to watch Hawks fans throw food and garbage at Novorro Bowman. Where is the class? It really taints the feeling of the win.

  145. swsrresident says:

@STTBM – I think a simple and personal get well card campaign would go over well. As long as those who think the food thing was okay don’t participate. Bowman should get only positive input from Seattle from this point on. We all want our team to win, we even want the opposing team to “feel the pain”, but no one with self-respect wants these world-class players to suffer a potentially career changing injury.

  146. EzraMelech says:

We won the NFC Championship Guys. Can we have one thread without the bickering please???
Fact of life; different people have different viewpoints on exact situation. Simple but effective example. Men vs Women. You show both the same exact thing and 9 times out of ten you’ll get polar opposite viewpoints. It’s because men and women “THINK” very differently.
The same can be said with people in general. Some like to overanylze some see glass 1/2 full some see it 1/2 empty. Some see all the positive in something some see all negative and some see balance.

I prefer the balance approach, as it translates to a better life in most cases. However, that being said NONE of them are right or wrong. Just different strokes for different folks.

Let’s just agree to disagree on certain points and avoid the personal attacks

    Go Hawks
