We talked during the week about defending Frank Gore, whom Pete Carroll said has some of the best vision and wiggle at the line of scrimmage of any back in the league.
As we saw in San Francisco, then again in the playoff game against Carolina, one cut from Gore can change the game. Let’s take a look at two plays, both 3rd-and-1, in which Gore went left then got loose by cutting back on the free safety. First, the Seahawks game at San Francisco, then the 49ers’ playoff game at Carolina:

This was a little different than the play against the Seahawks, in that Gore ends up one-on-one with free safety Robert Lester and jukes him.
Staying in their lanes will be key today for the Seahawks.
