Sherman being Sherman

More cameras and more reporters equals more Richard Sherman on Wednesday.

Early in his press conference, Sherman explained, “There is no love lost. No love found,” between the Seahawks and the 49ers.

“I don’t know if there will be handshakes after,” Sherman said.

Sherman was asked if there is hate.

“I don’t hate anybody, Sherman said. “There will be some dislike. Some strong dislike. But, there will be some intensity. It’s playoff football. Even if it wasn’t two teams that were very familiar with each other, it’s playoff football so there is going to be a lot of intensity.”

Sherman said the aggressiveness and intensity of the Seahawks doesn’t change this week. He also explained that there wouldn’t be such a rivalry if the teams didn’t rise to the top of the standings together.

He, per usual, had a few humorous moments. Sherman said at Stanford he stifled his mouth when answering questions, because that’s how Jim Harbaugh wanted things. Sherman said Pete Carroll allows everyone to just be who they are, as long as they are on-point when on the field.

Sherman was asked how “mind-boggling” it is for him that he went in the fifth round.

“It’s incredibly mind-boggling,” Sherman said.

He then went on to say he searches out every negative article about him so he can stay hungry and continue to build the chip on his shoulder. Sherman said the draft and anything else negative continues to be fuel for him at all times, and it also helps push back the importance of any recognition like being named All-Pro or to the Pro Bowl.

What is the reporter etiquette for asking questions at these things?

It seems like a competition to jump up and butt in front of the other people and doesn’t seem very friendly.

Hasn’t anyone ever come up with a better scheme? Maybe you all draw numbers before the conference and hold up your number on a paddle like you’re at an auction when it’s your turn?

[Richard Sherman made a small comparison between Seattle coach Pete Carroll and San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh, who Sherman played for when Harbaugh was the coach at Stanford. Sherman said Carroll is easy-going and allows players to enjoy the moment and be who they are. "If you're a loose guy who dances at practice, like me, he lets you be that guy," Sherman said. "It's all some of us have ever known in the NFL. He makes the game a lot more fun." And what about Harbaugh? "Uh, a lot less so," Sherman said laughing.]

    Hilarious.

Given the nature of this heated game, if we receive more than…1 personal foul, we have a significant chance of losing the game. We HAVE to “take the high road” and be disciplined on Sunday. Watched the CAR/SF game last night…Boldin is an absolute JERK.
