Im pumped!!! 4 more hours of work to go and then Hawk mode!!!

  2. Those 3rd downs are the key to me – We need to limit the 3 and outs to nothing! This team is built around winning the field position battle. We have to get first downs on every possesion. If we do that we can win the position battle AND strike when we get closer.

It will also help with having to kick so much in the red zone – which at times has been a problem this season.

I think/hope the threat Harvin poses will loosen up the defense and this will allow Wilson and Lynch much more big play opportunities.

  4. Weather is going to be a factor, Saints are going to try and pound the ball lke they did against Philly. Wilson will be Wilson, as long as he doesn’t make any mistakes and the O-Line holds up for at least a couple of secs, we should be good. Harvin is going to F with the Saints mindset on D, but I think Miller will be big tomorrow. I think the Hawks will hit him over the middle a couple of times for some big gains. Remember last year, savin’ him for the big time. Go Hawks.

  5. As much as I have despised the Harvin injury and rehab soap opera, I really feel like he could be a huge difference maker for us. It would be terrific if we can win the NFC championship and be listening to the analysts and media go on endlessly about the huge impact Harvin had on the Divisional and NFC championship games.

    Go hawks!

  6. I hope the Saints DO try and pound the ball at us. They will see – and feel – the difference between pounding it at the Eagles defence vs. the Seahawk defence.

  7. Wouldn’t mind seeing them air it out either though. Maxi and Sherman snatchin’ another one would be awesome.

  8. Carlsonkid says:

Adding Percy could potentially have an enormous impact , and RW certainly needs to play well and convert on 3rd downs , but this Seahawks offense has always been predicated on a run-first philosophy . Marshawn Lynch is the engine that makes everything go ; they stack the box to stop the run and that opens everything else up ..

Run the ball , eat the clock and pray Bevel doesn’t have anymore brain-farts and forget to call some crossing routes to the TE and slot receiver over the middle to move the chains when needed . And I’ve never understood a 5-wideout empty backfield set on 3rd & short , or 3 straight passes on 1st and goal when you have Marshawn Lynch on your team . The man’s play calling can be frustrating sometimes .

    GO HAWKS !!

  9. RDPoulsbo says:

Saw some commenters in the NO paper that they think the weather could be a blessing in disguise. Apparently, they think all the rain is going to turn the field into a muddy mess and Seattle won’t be able to run the ball either. Funny that field turf doesn’t do that. Footing won’t be a problem, but wet balls in gale force winds will be.

  10. HawkFromDay1 says:

    Going against the grain:

    Bruce Irvin

I expect him to cover Jimmy Graham a little bit, rush the passer, hold the strong side edge and potentially have some assignments against Darren Sproles (screens and stuff – he’s actually FASTER than Sproles).

I think he could make a big impact on this game

  11. roddychops says:

Percy Harvin will make Doug Baldwin the X.

  12. Last game vs. the Saints we witnessed the best overall coverage by our defense that I have ever seen(by any team!). We expect it from our secondary but the linebackers were excellent as well. Add to that a defensive TD and we just took off from there. More of that please.

    Let’s get ready to Rrrruuuuuuuummmmmmmmbbbbbblllllleeeee!!!!!

  13. Southendzone says:

Not listed in the choices, Earl Thomas I’m calling him the X factor for tomorrow. 2 picks and a hit on Jimmy Graham that bends his body in half like that Chicago receiver against us a year or 2 back.

  14. chrisj122 says:

Damn I’m getting hyped up for tomorrow, it be not be a let down

  15. chrisj122 says:

“it better not be a let down”

  16. Macabrevity says:

Biggest factor imo will be if RW has one of those days where he’s sailing the ball 10 ft over people’s heads, or the other kind where he’s buying time and tossing around underthrown jump balls knowing his guys can go up and get it.

  17. GeorgiaHawk says:

    Brees will throw 3 Ints.

  18. Interesting comment above about Irvin.

I think most expect Jimmy Graham to be covered by a mix of Malcolm Smith and Kam Chancellor – I would be interested to see how Irvin would fare in covering Graham. It would certainly be a moment where Irvin could stop some of the criticism he receives here by doing a good job in coverage.

  19. 25 hours and 50 minutes to go…..

  20. We might have a BeastQuake and a Legion of Boom lightning strike. And “fast winds” even.

“Saturday: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 10am. High near 49. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 22 to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.”

The X factor is the Seattle offensive line. If they play well, it will be a blowout.

  21. mindnbrad says:

    rbuzby, I agree totally.

“The X factor is the Seattle offensive line. If they play well, it will be a blowout.”

  22. GeorgiaRay says:

How we celebrate Blue Friday in the ATL!!! Go Hawks!!

  23. GeorgiaHawk says:

    Cool! Ray.

  24. GeorgiaRay says:

Thanks Georgia….Can’t wait till tomorrow!! Here’s a tweet my daughter put up that the Seahawks grabbed…she’s excited. Go Hawks!!

  25. thursday says:

It’s definitely Percy Harvin. The Saints might have thought they were prepared to face us a second time, but with Harvin in there, it’s potentially a different offense. As discussed many times, it’s not just about the plays he makes, but his very presence on the field. Ignore him and he (and Wilson) makes you pay.

  26. ChrisHolmes says:

    Weather is the X-factor.

It *should* favor us. Marshawn and the running game, bootlegs, play-action, field position with our superior punt game and Percy Harvin. Defense wins championships.

But the Saints are not slouch and this game certainly scares me some.

My wife reminded me today: They are not out of this game while Wilson, Marshawn and Sherman are playing.

And it’s true. We overcame a deficit against the Redskins last year. we overcame a huge deficit against the Falcons. We’ve overcome some deficits this year as well. I’d prefer to we jump out early and win it going away, but I’m aware that realistically this team starts slow and winds up as the game goes along.

I’m trying to mentally prepare myself for the slow start, falling behind, and then the comeback.

At any rate: this season is in the books, and we, the fans, were given a treat. I’m glad for the year we had.

    Go Hawks.
