Pete Carroll said right guard J.R. Sweezy will not play Sunday because of a concussion he suffered in the game against the New York Giants. He did not commit to a replacement.

Some options: The Seahawks could move Paul McQuistan to right guard if they think James Carpenter can play a whole game at left guard. Lemuel Jeanpierre can also play right guard, as can Alvin Bailey.

Carroll said Jeremy Lane (ankle) will be good to go.

Percy Harvin, of course, is out.

    Well well…

The fact that both Sherman and Thomas play special teams too is pretty uncommon. There is no doubt about R Dub’s value, however…I believe that Earl and Sherm are just as critical to the team’s success and all 3 should be paid accordingly.

Yesterday, we talked about retaining the core and IMO it’s starts with those 3.

Hard to argue with that joreb.

Just saw on NFL network top fantasy Defense is Seattle, then SF Whiners, then St Louis 3rd…pretty awesome stuff NFC West the best

As much as I love Wilson, Sherman and Thomas and our D keep us competitive in every game. All three are integral parts of the winning equation that we need to keep for the long haul…

And to think that doesn’t even consider the #1 rush defense at the Cardinals. This is an incredible division.

has the NFL announced fines levied for last week?

I wanna see Bailey play RG

As for Harvin.. as long as he’s ready to be rolled out in the playoffs I’ll be happy

Now all you Sweezy haters can have a field day. Lol.

edatang45, it’s a well known secret that Pete is holding Harvin back only to released for the playoffs/SB…

  11. Remember when people complained about Breno and after he was lost – it was pretty clear he was our best option at RT even though he’ll never sniff a Pro Bowl?

Remember when an aging Trufant got hurt and the better player in Thurmond took over and was playing better than Trufant did up to that point in the season? Then Thurmond got hurt and the guy on the bench after him played even better than Thurmond did? His name was Richard Sherman.

I don’t think any “haters” hate any of our players. We just simply want positions to perform better.

Maybe Sweezy will be like the Breno example and it’ll be clear that Sweezy was clearly the better option.

Maybe Sweezy will be like Trufant to Sherman and it’ll turn out clear that the coaching staff wasn’t playing the best players even though they thought they were because any of us fools of fans can tell (and I bet the coaching staff will now agree) that Sherman performed better a few years ago on the field than Trufant did – even though Trufant started out as the starter.

  12. Sweezy is out!

  13. Sweezy is out!!

  14. Sweezy is out!!!

  15. Merry Christmas to all…… Sweezy is out!

Blocis and I both want the line to be better, but I’m not as sure as he seems to be that there is a better player currently riding the pine. I’m not endorsing JRS but I fear he’s the best we have. Maybe things will all get better next April but this is still December and I’m a little worried.

With due respect to the guard who must not be named though, JRS is only a guard and the next man up really should be about 99.44% as good. It’s not like he was a kicker or even a punter or somebody else that was actually valuable. Pretty much any big thug should be able to fill in at guard for a game or two. See person, hit person. If that person falls down, go hit some other person. Not complicated.

    ‘Hawks win big on Sunday.

Georgia – lol. That actually made me laugh.
