Pete Carroll said Percy Harvin won’t practice today. Brandon Browner is “iffy” to practice today.
The Seahawks continue to try and figure out how to handle both. It sounds like — and the calendar sort of dictates — a resolution to Browner’s appeal could be close. If he wins, the Seahawks will have to figure out where he is healthwise, then how to work him back in if he’s 100 percent . They have a lot of moving parts with Browner close to the end of a season.
“It has taken a long time,” Carroll said. “We’re a little disappointed in that.”
Carroll says nothing has changed with Harvin.
Other quick hits:
> Carroll said Brandon Mebane has been consistent in his time with the Seahawks.
> Carroll said the Cardinals are playing “cleaner and sharper” since the Seahawks last saw them. Also said, “Carson (Palmer) is really hitting it.”
> Despite Arizona being No. 1 in rush defense, Carroll is unfazed. “We’re going to run the football. That’s what we do.”
> Carroll said Russell Okung and Breno Giacomini are fully back.
> He also said they had enough of a look to see what Tharold Simon can do, but that Simon couldn’t stay healthy, injuring both big toes.
> Earl Thomas said it was a “sad day” for him when Mack Brown left Texas. With the Texas women’s volleyball team in town for the NCAA Final Four at KeyArena, some Texas media stopped by in Renton to talk to Thomas. He said he was sad because Brown gave him opportunity and he’s disappointed anytime someone who gave him a chance has something negative happen.
> Michael Bennett spent some time at the podium today. He was asked a variety of questions, most not about football. When asked about who he would want to do a commercial for, Bennett said, “Rolls Royce.”
> Also, so more practice squad shuffling. The Seahawks added DT Dewayne Cherrington and WR Arceto Clark to the practice squad. DT Michael Brooks was cut, again. Seattle cut LB Mike Taylor on Monday.
