Thursdays are for Russell Wilson and Richard Sherman:

> Wilson explained the two goal-line plays where he didn’t hand to Marshawn Lynch this way:

“The first one was a fake to my left and I keep it. It was one of those that we ran before and it worked. They just made a play on it. The second one was one of our zone-read plays. Chris Long came through right away, so I was just kind of reading the area and I thought he was going to tackle Marshawn, so I took it. You never know with Marshawn. Probably next time, I’ll hand it off. We’ll see.”

> Wilson also said, “We have to work on our protection, obviously. I’ll put the blame on me. I have to figure out a way. We’re in the process of figuring it out.”

> With Tampa coming to town, there was talk about Richard Sherman and Darrelle Revis. Sherman said he’s never met Revis and also said he didn’t regret anything he said on Twitter during the back-and-forth with Revis.

“He’s a good player and he’s having a good year,” Sherman said. “I don’t think he’s very happy with the way they’re using him in the scheme, playing a lot of Cover 2 and making him play off. I think he’s much better when he’s man-to-man. I think any corner that has pride about himself wants to be in man-to-man situations. Can’t help how you’re being used.”

Sherman was then asked how he would react if he was asked to play zone, and said, “They do sometimes.” How would you react? “I play.”

> Sherman said Earl Thomas is one of the “most locked-in” football player he’s ever seen.

> Sherman also said he thinks Lynch is one of the “most misunderstood people in the game.”

> Sherman said he’s fine after taking a shot to the ribs Monday night.

> Sherman also said, “Until they find the a way to teleport the ball in, I think everything is coverable.”

  1. In honor of Halloween, here’s a funny video of Favre trick-or-treating at Holmgren’s house.

Enjoy your evenings with the kids – be safe!

Not that this is BREAKING NEWS about Harvin. To be expected. He’ll be activated the Monday following the Vikings game (at the latest) or he’ll be IR’ed that week. Even if Harvin is put on the active roster it won’t necessarily mean that he will play in upcoming game(s), just that he joins the active roster. Or he could be activated and play as soon as the Atlanta game.

Nothing new here and nothing to see. Wash rinse repeat as necessary.

Now on to more pressing subjects…what should I make the family for dinner tonight? Well, it’s a more pressing issue for me…

  3. chuck_easton says:

Thanks Galena! Unfortunately we had pizza last night because we didn’t get home from the kid’s big playoff win until 7:30 and I was too tired from screaming to think of anything to cook…

    Chile sounds good to me!

  5. chuck_easton says:

Hmmmm, Chile, with cheese on top! And Cornbread.

    Done!

  6. Should be some Mariner rally fries left over if you are swinging through SoDo.

  7. doubledink says:

    thursday,
ouch! a little more acrid than the way some have put it on here, but the same general idea.

  8. Why won’t Paul Allen hire the writers from Field Gulls to run the offense? They have all the answers…a few days after the game anyway.

  9. doubledink says:

I just read a lot of the comments on that article and came away with a much greater appreciation for the commenters on this blog. There are a lot of airheads over there.
    I’d probably fit right in…

  10. GeorgiaHawk says:

    So would John Morgan Lol.

  11. If Harvin goes to the IR, then the Hawks are most likely incredibly stupid. They could’ve waited weeks to have him START practicing.

  12. WilliamPercival says:

They had him “start practicing” because he’s goin to be activated in no more than three weeks time. The FO should have at least earned your trust in these type of moves by now.

Interesting stats put together by Field Gulls, not to say I agree with firing bevell, but definitely underscores a few things..

  13. Yes, William. That was my point! They wouldn’t have had him start practicing if he wasn’t physically ready.
